अप्सु मज्जेत्पतेत्कूपे कुर्यादन्यच्च तद्विधम् । तृड्दाहमोहान् पूयस्य च्छर्दनं च प्रवर्तयेत् ॥ ३६ ॥

drowns in water, falls into a well, and does other similar dangerous acts, suffers from thirst, burning sensation, delusion, and vomiting of pus occurs,

रक्तं च सर्वमार्गेभ्यो रिष्टोत्पत्तिं च तं त्यजेत् । रहःस्त्रीरतिसंलापगन्धस्रग्भूषणप्रियः ॥ ३७ ॥

along with discharge of blood from all the body channels and development of fatal signs (arista). Such a person should be rejected (as incurable). Fond of privacy, talking with women, conversations about sexual pleasure, perfumes, flower garlands, and ornaments;

हृष्टः शान्तश्च दुःसाध्यो रतिकामेन पीडितः । दीनः परिमृशन् वक्त्रं शुष्कौष्ठगलतालुकः ॥ ३८ ॥

cheerful yet calm, the patient afflicted with a desire for pleasure (Ratikama) is difficult to cure. The one who looks miserable, frequently rubs or touches his face, and has dry lips, throat, and palate;

शङ्कितं वीक्षते रौति ध्यायत्यायाति दीनताम् । अन्नमन्नाभिलाषेऽपि दत्तं नाति बुभुक्षते ॥ ३९ ॥

looks around suspiciously, cries, broods, becomes anxious, and does not eat much of the offered food despite feeling hungry;

english translation

गृहीतं बलिकामेन तं विद्यात्सुखसाधनम् । हन्तुकामं जयेद्धोमैः सिद्धमन्त्रप्रवर्तितैः ॥ ४० ॥

should be understood as possessed by a Graha desiring oblations (Balikama). This type is easily curable. The Graha that intends to kill (Hantukama) should be overcome through sacrificial fire rituals (Homas) performed with perfected or potent hymns (Siddha Mantras).
