तत्र रूक्षो लघुः शीतः खरः सूक्ष्मश्चलोऽनिलः । पित्तं सस्नेहतीक्ष्णोष्णं लघु विस्त्रं सरं द्रवम् ॥ ११ II

In general vata consists the following 6 qualities where as pitta and kapha are having the 7 qualities as under: Qualities of vata: 1. Ruksha guna (dryness) 2. Laghu guna (lightness) 3. Šīta guna (coldness) 4. Khara guna (roughness) 5.Sūkṣma guna (minuteness) 6.Cala guna (mobility) Qualities of pitta: 1. Sneha (unctuousness) 2. Tikṣṇa (sharpness) 3. Uṣṇa (hot) 4. Laghu (light) 5.Visra gandha (putrefied smell) 6.Sara (mobile) 7. Drava (liquid)

स्निग्धः शीतो गुरुर्मन्दः श्लक्ष्णो मृत्स्नः स्थिरः कफः । संसर्गः सन्निपातश्च तद्द्द्वित्रिक्षयकोपतः ॥ १२॥

Qualities of kapha: 1. Snigdha (unctuousness) 2. Śīta (cold) 3. Guru (heaviness) 4. Manda (dull) 5. Ślakṣna (smoothness) 6.Mrtsna (shinning) 7.Stira (immobile) The vitiation of any of the two dosas i.e. either vṛddhi or kṣaya can be called as samsarga and the vitiation of all the 3 dosas can be termed as sannipata.

रसासृङ्गांसमेदोऽस्थिमज्जशुक्राणि धातवः । सप्त दूष्याः-मला मूत्रशकृत्स्वेदादयोऽपि च ॥ १३ ॥

After that sapta dhatus (seven tissues) and trimalas (three waste products) and their functions have been discussed as under. Seven tissues of the body: 1. Rasa dhatu (plasma) 2. Rakta dhatu (blood) 3. Maṁsa dhatu (muscle tissue) 4. Medo dhatu (fatty tissue) 5. Asthi dhatu (bony tissue) 6. Majja dhatu (bone marrow) 7. Sukra dhatu (semen, reproductive elements). Three Malas are 1. Mutra (urine) 2. Sakṛt (faeces) 3. Sveda (sweat).

वृद्धिः समानैः सर्वेषां विपरीतैर्विपर्ययः । रसाःस्वाद्वम्ललवणतिक्तोषणकषायकाः ॥ १४ ॥

Due to the ingestion of the food having similar qualities vṛiddhi (increase) will be taken place in the body and kashaya (decrease) will be seen while taking the opposite qualities of food substances. Rasa is nothing but the taste which is being perceived by the tongue. In Ayurveda 6 tastes have been described as under: 1. Madhura rasa (sweet) 2. Amla rasa (sour) 3. Lavana rasa (salt) 4. Tikta rasa (bitter) 5. Ushana/Katu rasa (pungent) 6. Kaṣaya rasa (astringent)

षड् द्रव्यमाश्रितास्ते च यथापूर्वं बलावहाः । तत्राद्या मारुतं घ्नन्ति त्रयस्तिक्तादयः कफम् ।। १५ ।।

These 6 tastes are associated with the substances and having more strength in their preceding order. The first mentioned three tastes of the above i.e. madhura, amla, lavana rasas mitigates vata and increases kapha dosa.
