भवन्ति चात्र- द्रव्येषु पच्यमानेषु येष्वम्बुपृथिवीगुणाः । निर्वर्तन्तेऽधिकास्तत्र पाको मधुर उच्यते ॥११॥
In substances being digested, if the qualities of water and earth are predominant, then the digestion is called sweet.

पदार्थों के पकते समय, यदि पानी और पृथ्वी के गुण प्रधान होते हैं, तो उस विपाक को मधुर कहा जाता है।

taddravyamAtmanA kiJcitkiJcidvIryeNa sevitam । kiJcidrasavipAkAbhyAM doSaM hanti karoti vA ॥14॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपाको नास्ति विना वीर्याद्वीर्यं नास्ति विना रसात् । रसो नास्ति विना द्रव्याद्द्रव्यं श्रेष्ठतमं स्मृतम् ॥१५॥
There is no transformation without potency, and there is no potency without taste. Taste does not exist without substance, and substance is considered the best among all.

विपाक बिना वीर्य का नहीं होता, और वीर्य बिना रस का नहीं होता। रस बिना द्रव्य का नहीं होता, और द्रव्य को सर्वोत्तम माना जाता है।
