मृदुः शीतोऽनुकूलश्च सुगन्धिश्चानिलः शुभः । खरोष्णोऽनिष्टगन्धश्च प्रतिलोमश्च गर्हितः ॥४१॥

"The wind that is mild, cool, favorable, and fragrant is considered auspicious. Conversely, a harsh, hot, and unpleasant-smelling wind, or one that blows contrary to the direction, is regarded as inauspicious."

english translation

"जो वायु मृदु, शीतल, अनुकूल और सुगंधित होती है, वह शुभ मानी जाती है। इसके विपरीत, जो वायु कठोर, उष्ण और अप्रिय गंध वाली होती है, या जो विपरीत दिशा में बहती है, वह अशुभ मानी जाती है।"

ग्रन्थ्यर्बुदादिषु सदा छेदशब्दस्तु पूजितः । विद्रध्युदरगुल्मेषु भेदशब्दस्तथैव च ॥४२॥

"In cases of knots, tumors, and similar conditions, the term 'cheda' (cutting) is always respected. For conditions like abscesses, abdominal distension, and tumors, the term 'bheda' (piercing or breaking) is also respected."

english translation

"ग्रंथियों, बड़ों और इसी प्रकार की स्थितियों में 'छेदन' (कटाई) शब्द सदैव पूजित होता है। फोड़े, उदर, और गुहाओं जैसी स्थितियों में 'भेदन' (छेदन या तोड़ना) शब्द भी सम्मानित होता है।"

रक्तपित्तातिसारेषु रुद्धशब्दः प्रशस्यते । एवं व्याधिविशेषेण निमित्तमुपधारयेत् ॥४३॥

"In cases of excessive bleeding and blood disorders, the term 'rudha' (blocked or obstructed) is praised. Thus, one should understand the causes according to the specific disease."

"रक्तपित्त और रक्त संबंधी विकारों में 'रुद्ध' (रोकना या अवरुद्ध) शब्द की प्रशंसा की जाती है। इस प्रकार, प्रत्येक रोग के अनुसार निमित्त (कारण) को समझना चाहिए।"

तथैवाक्रुष्टहाकष्टमाक्रन्दरुदितस्वनाः । छर्द्यां वातपुरीषाणां शब्दो वै गर्दभोष्ट्रयोः ॥४४॥

"Likewise, sounds such as 'akrushṭa' (strained), 'hākṣṭa' (harsh), and 'ākṛṇḍa' (wailing) are associated with vomiting, wind, and stool disorders. The sounds made by a donkey or an ass are indicative."

english translation

"इसी प्रकार, 'अकृष्ट' (कसाव) 'हाकष्ट' (कठोर) और 'आकृण्ड' (रोना) जैसे स्वर उल्टी, वायु और मल के विकारों से संबंधित होते हैं। गधों या खच्चरों द्वारा उत्पन्न ध्वनियाँ संकेत देने वाली होती हैं।"

प्रतिषिद्धं तथा भग्नं क्षुतं स्खलितमाहतम् । दौर्मनस्यं च वैद्यस्य यात्रायां न प्रशस्यते ॥४५॥

"Sounds indicating prohibition, breaking, hunger, stumbling, or being struck, as well as those reflecting the physician's dejection, are not favorable during travel."

"जिस प्रकार वर्जित, टूटा हुआ, भूख, गिरना या आहत होना, और चिकित्सक का मानसिक दुःख व्यक्त करने वाले स्वर यात्रा के दौरान शुभ नहीं माने जाते हैं।"
