शस्तं हंसरुतं नॄणां कौशिकं चैव वामतः । प्रस्थाने यायिनः श्रेष्ठा वाचश्च हृदयङ्गमाः ॥३१॥
The sound of the swan is auspicious for men, and the Koushika (Veda) on the left. The best of travelers on a journey, and the words that touch the heart.

वे वृक्ष जो पत्तों, फूलों और फलों से युक्त हों, जिनमें दूध हो और जो रोग से मुक्त हों, या वे वृक्ष जो आकाश के भवनों पर टिके हों, जिनमें पताकाएँ, मेहराबें और चबूतरे हों।

"Peaceful speakers in the directions, sweet sounds, and those following from behind are considered favorable for the success of actions. Omens observed from the left or right, or signs from auspicious birds, are also considered important."

"शांत वाणी वाले वक्ता, मधुर ध्वनियाँ, और पीछे से अनुसरण करने वाले शुभ संकेत माने जाते हैं। बाएं या दाएं से देखे गए संकेत, या शुभ पक्षियों से मिले संकेत भी महत्वपूर्ण माने जाते हैं।"

"On a dry, unshaded place, on creepers, or on a tree with thorns, or on places with ashes, burnt stones, or places where bones and charred remains are scattered, omens observed are considered significant."

"सूखे, छांव रहित स्थानों पर, बेलों पर, कांटेदार वृक्षों पर, या ऐसे स्थानों पर जहाँ राख, जलाए हुए पत्थर, या हड्डियाँ और जले हुए अवशेष scattered हों, देखे गए संकेत महत्वपूर्ण माने जाते हैं।"
