अहृतानि यतोऽमूनि पाचयेयुर्भृशं व्रणम् | रुजश्च विविधाः कुर्युस्तस्मादेतान् विशोधयेत् ||१९||

If foreign bodies are not removed, they might cause severe pain and various types of afflictions in the wound. Therefore, one should thoroughly cleanse these foreign bodies to prevent such complications.

ततो व्रणं समुन्नम्य स्थापयित्वा यथास्थितम् | सीव्येत् सूक्ष्मेण सूत्रेण वल्केनाश्मन्तकस्य वा ||२०||

Then, the wound should be elevated and held in place properly. It should be sutured with a fine thread, with either a thin piece of cloth or thread made from Ashmantaka or other materials.
