तत्र कारणानुरूपं कार्यमिति कृत्वा सर्व एवैते विशेषाः सत्त्वरजस्तमोमया भवन्ति; तदञ्जनत्वात्तन्मयत्वाच्च तद्गुणा एव पुरुषा भवन्तीत्येके भाषन्ते ॥१०॥
Thus, considering the effect according to its cause, all these distinctions are composed of the three qualities: sattva, rajas, and tamas. Due to their inherent nature and essence, some say that these qualities themselves become the purusha (consciousness).

इस प्रकार, कारण के अनुसार प्रभाव को ध्यान में रखते हुए, ये सभी विशेषताएँ तीन गुणों: सत्त्व, रजस और तमस से मिलकर बनी हैं। उनकी अंतर्निहित प्रकृति और सार के कारण, कुछ लोग कहते हैं कि ये गुण स्वयं पुरुष (चेतना) बन जाते हैं।
