सप्तोत्तरं मर्मशतम् । तानि मर्माणि पञ्चात्मकानि भवन्ति; तद्यथा- मांसमर्माणि, सिरामर्माणि, स्नायुमर्माणि, अस्थिमर्माणि, सन्धिमर्माणि चेति । न खलु मांससिरास्नाय्वस्थिसन्धिव्यतिरेकेणान्यानि मर्माणि भवन्ति, यस्मान्नोपलभ्यन्ते ॥३॥
There are one hundred and seven Marmas. These Marmas are of five types: namely, Mamsa Marmas, Sira Marmas, Snayu Marmas, Asthi Marmas, and Sandhi Marmas. There are no other Marmas besides the Mamsa, Sira, Snayu, Asthi, and Sandhi types, as they are not discernible.

एक सौ सात मर्म हैं। ये मर्म पांच प्रकार के होते हैं: ममसा मर्म, सिरा मर्म, स्नायु मर्म, अस्थि मर्म और संधि मर्म। ममसा, सिरा, स्नायु, अस्थि और संधि प्रकारों के अलावा कोई अन्य मर्म नहीं हैं, क्योंकि वे पहचाने जाने योग्य नहीं हैं।

Of these, there are eleven flesh-marmas, forty-one sinew-marmas, twenty-seven bone-marmas, and twenty joint-marmas. Thus, there are one hundred and seven marmas.

In each of these, there is one of the eleven flesh-marmas located in the arm, while others are situated in the shoulders, abdomen, back, and neck, totaling thirty-seven.
