अत ऊर्ध्वमयस्कृतीर्वक्ष्यामः- तीक्ष्णलोहपत्राणि तनूनि लवणवर्गप्रदिग्धानि गोमयाग्निप्रतप्तानि त्रिफलाशालसारादिकषायेण निर्वापयेत् षोडशवारान्, ततः खदिराङ्गारतप्तान्युपशान्ततापानि सूक्ष्मचूर्णानि कारयेद्धनतान्तवपरिस्रावितानि , ततो यथाबलं मात्रां सर्पिर्मधुभ्यां संसृज्योपयुञ्जीत, जीर्णे यथाव्याध्यनम्लमलवणमाहारं कुर्वीत, एवं तुलामुपयुज्य कुष्ठमेहमेदःश्वयथुपाण्डुरोगोन्मादापस्मारानपहत्य वर्षशतं जीवति, तुलायां तुलायां वर्षशतमुत्कर्षः, एतेन सर्वलौहेष्वयस्कृतयो व्याख्याताः ||११||

Now we will describe the iron preparations. Thin sheets of sharp iron are treated with salt preparations, heated with cow dung fire, and cooled in the decoction of triphala and shala, repeated sixteen times. Afterward, the cooled sheets are heated with acacia charcoal, ground into a fine powder, and filtered through a fine cloth. The dosage should be taken according to one’s strength, mixed with ghee and honey. After digestion, one should consume food that is neither sour nor salty and is appropriate for the disease. Using up to one tola, this preparation can eradicate leprosy, diabetes, obesity, edema, anemia, insanity, and epilepsy, allowing one to live for one hundred years. For each additional tola consumed, one can gain an extra hundred years of life. This explains all the iron preparations.

Now, take the juice of the following herbs: Trivrit, Chaya, Agnimantha, Saptala, Kevuka, Shankhini, Tilva, Triphala, Palasha, and Shirish. Mix them in a vessel made of Palasha wood. Heat a ball made of Khadira and iron, which has been treated with fire, and dip it into the mixture three times. After that, take the mixture out and heat it again over cow dung fire. Next, strain out the remaining portion, add the leaves of heated iron, and mix in two parts of Pippali powder along with honey. Then, place it in a well-maintained iron vessel, and use it as needed. In case of chronic conditions, the patient should take food appropriate for their illness. This preparation treats incurable conditions like leprosy and diabetes, reduces bulkiness, alleviates edema, and revives the fire of digestion. Specifically, it is advised for royal consumption, and with this preparation, a person can live for a hundred years. After preparing the decoction of Shala and Sara, heat the Palasha wood in an iron pot, filter it, and mix in the prescribed amounts of Pippali powder, honey, and jaggery. Keep it in a well-maintained iron vessel and use it as needed for half a month or a month, depending on the strength of the patient. Similarly, this method should also be applied to Nyagrodha and other herbs.

Now, we will describe the preparation of Khadira. Take a medium-sized Khadira tree that is well-grown and free from disease. Cut the middle root and place it in an iron pot. Then, surround it with cow dung and mud, and ignite it with fuel mixed with cow dung until the sap flows out from the bottom. When it is known that the pot is full, take it out and strain the liquid into another container. Maintain it properly, and then mix it with the appropriate amount of Amalaki, honey, and ghee. When digested, one should consume food similar to that of Bhallataka preparation. This ensures an increase of one hundred years in lifespan. After boiling Khadira sap in a water decoction, strain out sixteen parts and maintain it properly, then use it mixed with Amalaki, honey, and ghee. This preparation is applicable to all types of tree saps. In the morning, one should consume either a measure of Khadira sap powder or the decoction of Khadira sap mixed with clarified butter.

अमृतवल्लीस्वरसं क्वाथं वा प्रातः प्रातरुपसेवेत, तत्सिद्धं वा सर्पिः, अपराह्णे ससर्पिष्कमोदनमामलकयूषेण भुञ्जीत; एवं मासमुपयुज्य सर्वकुष्ठैर्विमुच्यत इति ||१४||

A mixture of black sesame, Bhallataka oil, clarified butter, and the juice of Amalaki, along with decoctions of Shalasaradi and various other ingredients, should be prepared. The ingredients include Triphala, Trikatu, the pulp of bitter fruits, Vidanga fruit, the juice of Chitraka, Haridra, and herbs like Danti, Dravanti, and Vayashthi, mixed together in equal parts. This should be cooked as per the method for preparing a medicinal oil. Once properly prepared, it should be strained and stored. The individual, after awakening in the morning, should take a small amount mixed with honey. If suffering from ailments, one should consume a mixture of mudga and Amalaki juice with salt and clarified butter. The one who consumes the decoction of Khadira becomes free from all types of leprosy, attains purity, sharp intellect, longevity of a hundred years, and remains free from disease.
