अरिष्टानतो वक्ष्यामः- पूतीकचव्यचित्रकसुरदारुसारिवादन्तीत्रिवृत्त्रिकटुकानां प्रत्येकं षट्पलिका भागा बदरकुडवस्त्रिफलाकुडव इत्येतेषां चूर्णानि, ततः पिप्पलीमधुघृतैरन्तःप्रलिप्ते घृतभाजने प्राक्कृतसंस्कारे सप्तोदककुडवानयोरजोऽर्धकुडवमर्धतुलां च गुडस्याभिहितानि चूर्णान्यावाप्य स्वनुगुप्तं कृत्वा यवपल्ले सप्तरात्रं वासयेत्, ततो यथाबलमुपयुञ्जीत, एषोऽरिष्टः कुष्ठमेहमेदःपाण्डुरोगश्वयथूनपहन्ति | एवं शालसारादौ न्यग्रोधादावारग्वधादौ चारिष्टान् कुर्वीत ||६||

Now, I shall explain the preparation of Arishta. Take six pala (approximately 288 grams) each of Pūtikā (Stereospermum suaveolens), Chavya (Piper chaba), Chitraka (Plumbago zeylanica), Suradāru (Cedrus deodara), Sārivā (Hemidesmus indicus), Dantī (Baliospermum montanum), Trivrit (Operculina turpethum), and Trikatuka (three pungent spices: ginger, long pepper, and black pepper). Add one kudava (approximately 192 grams) of Badara (jujube) and one kudava of Triphala. Prepare a fine powder of all these ingredients. Then, coat the inside of a ghee-coated vessel with a mixture of Pippali (long pepper), honey, and ghee. Add seven kudava of water, half a kudava of fine powder, half a tulā (about 5 kilograms) of jaggery, and the prepared powders. Cover the vessel and keep it protected in a warm place for seven days. After that, consume it according to the individual's strength. This Arishta alleviates conditions like leprosy, diabetes, obesity, anemia, and swelling. Similarly, one can prepare Arishta with Shālasaara, Nyagrodha, Āragvadha, and other similar ingredients.

आसवानतो वक्ष्यामः- पलाशभस्मपरिस्रुतस्योष्णोदकस्य शीतीभूतस्य त्रयो भागा द्वौ फाणितस्यैकध्यमरिष्टकल्पेन विदध्यात्, एवं तिलादीनां क्षारेषु; शालसारादौ न्यग्रोधादावारग्वधादौ मूत्रेषु चासवान् विदध्यात् ||७||

Now, I shall explain the preparation of Āsava. Take three parts of cold water, filtered through Palāsha ash, and mix it with two parts of Phāṇita (jaggery syrup). Prepare it in the same manner as Arishta. Similarly, prepare it with the alkalis of sesame and other ingredients. Likewise, Āsava can be prepared using Shālasaara, Nyagrodha, Āragvadha, and various types of urine.

Now, I shall explain the preparation of Sura (alcoholic beverage). Take the essence of Shimsapa and Khadira trees, along with roots of Uttamārani, Brahmi, and Koshavati plants. Boil them all together using the decoction method and extract water for mixing with Mandodaka (fermented rice water). Then, ferment it with Kinva (yeast) dough as prescribed. Similarly, Sura can be prepared using Shālasaara, Nyagrodha, and Āragvadha.

Now, I shall explain the preparation of Avaleha (herbal jam). Take the decoction of Khadira, Asana, Nimba, Rajavriksha, and Shālasaara, and add finely ground powders of their essences into it. Cook until it is neither too liquid nor too thick. After preparing it, take a handful portion, mix it with honey, and consume it before breakfast. Similarly, Avaleha can be prepared using Shālasaara, Nyagrodha, and Āragvadha.

Now, I shall explain the preparation of Churna (herbal powder). Collect a prastha (about 768 grams) of finely ground powders from the essences of Shālasaara and similar herbs. After soaking it several times in the decoction of Āragvadha, administer it with the same Shālasaara decoction. Similarly, prepare herbal powders from the fruits of Nyagrodha and the flowers of Āragvadha and related herbs.
