एवं ब्रुवाण उत्कृत्य जटां रोषविदीपितः । तया स निर्ममे तस्मै कृत्यां कालानलोपमाम् ॥ ९-४-४६ ॥
As Durvāsā Muni said this, his face became red with anger. Uprooting a bunch of hair from his head, he created a demon resembling the blazing fire of devastation to punish Mahārāja Ambarīṣa. ॥ 9-4-46 ॥

जब दुर्वासा मुनि ने ऐसा कहा तो क्रोध से उनका मुख लाल पड़ गया। उन्होंने अपने सिर की जटा से एक बाल उखाडक़र महाराज अम्बरीष को दण्ड देने के लिए एक कृत्या उत्पन्न कर दी जो प्रलयाग्नि के समान प्रज्ज्वलित हो रही थी। ॥ ९-४-४६ ॥

तामापतन्तीं ज्वलतीमसिहस्तां पदा भुवम् । वेपयन्तीं समुद्वीक्ष्य न चचाल पदान्नृपः ॥ ९-४-४७ ॥
Taking a trident in his hand and making the surface of the earth tremble with his footsteps, that blazing creature came before Mahārāja Ambarīṣa. But the King, upon seeing him, was not at all disturbed and did not move even slightly from his position. ॥ 9-4-47 ॥

वह देदीप्यमान कृत्या अपने हाथ में त्रिशूल लेकर तथा अपने पदचाप से धरती को कंपाती हुई महाराज अम्बरीष के सामने आई। किन्तु उसे देखकर राजा तनिक भी विचलित नहीं हुआ और अपने स्थान से रंचभर भी नहीं हटा। ॥ ९-४-४७ ॥

प्राग्दिष्टं भृत्यरक्षायां पुरुषेण महात्मना । ददाह कृत्यां तां चक्रं क्रुद्धाहिमिव पावकः ॥ ९-४-४८ ॥
As fire in the forest immediately burns to ashes an angry snake, so, by the previous order of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, His disc, the Sudarśana cakra, immediately burnt to ashes the created demon to protect the Lord’s devotee. ॥ 9-4-48 ॥
english translation
जिस प्रकार दावाग्नि एक क्रुद्ध सर्प को तुरन्त जला देती है उसी प्रकार पहले से आदिष्ट भगवान् के सुदर्शन चक्र ने भगवद्भक्त की रक्षा करने के लिए उस सृजित कृत्या को जलाकर क्षार कर दिया। ॥ ९-४-४८ ॥

तदभिद्रवदुद्वीक्ष्य स्वप्रयासं च निष्फलम् । दुर्वासा दुद्रुवे भीतो दिक्षु प्राणपरीप्सया ॥ ९-४-४९ ॥
Upon seeing that his own attempt had failed and that the Sudarśana cakra was moving toward him, Durvāsā Muni became very frightened and began to run in all directions to save his life. ॥ 9-4-49 ॥

जब दुर्वासा मुनि ने देखा कि उनका निजी प्रयास विफल हो गया है और सुदर्शन चक्र उनकी ओर बढ़ रहा है तो वे अत्यधिक भयभीत हो उठे और अपनी जान बचाने के लिए सारी दिशाओं में दौने लगे। ॥ ९-४-४९ ॥

तमन्वधावद्भगवद्रथाङ्गं दावाग्निरुद्धूतशिखो यथाहिम् । तथानुषक्तं मुनिरीक्षमाणो गुहां विविक्षुः प्रससार मेरोः ॥ ९-४-५० ॥
As the blazing flames of a forest fire pursue a snake, the disc of the Supreme Personality of Godhead began following Durvāsā Muni. Durvāsā Muni saw that the disc was almost touching his back, and thus he ran very swiftly, desiring to enter a cave of Sumeru Mountain. ॥ 9-4-50 ॥

जिस प्रकार दवाग्नि की लपटें साँप का पीछा करती हैं उसी तरह भगवान् का चक्र दुर्वासा मुनि का पीछा करने लगा। दुर्वासा मुनि ने देखा कि यह चक्र उनकी पीठ को छूने वाला है अतएव वे तेजी से दौकर सुमेरु पर्वत की गुफा में घुस जाना चाह रहे थे। ॥ ९-४-५० ॥
