तामापतन्तीं ज्वलतीमसिहस्तां पदा भुवम् । वेपयन्तीं समुद्वीक्ष्य न चचाल पदान्नृपः ।। ९-४-४७ ।।

sanskrit

Taking a trident in his hand and making the surface of the earth tremble with his footsteps, that blazing creature came before Mahārāja Ambarīṣa. But the King, upon seeing him, was not at all disturbed and did not move even slightly from his position. ।। 9-4-47 ।।

english translation

वह देदीप्यमान कृत्या अपने हाथ में त्रिशूल लेकर तथा अपने पदचाप से धरती को कंपाती हुई महाराज अम्बरीष के सामने आई। किन्तु उसे देखकर राजा तनिक भी विचलित नहीं हुआ और अपने स्थान से रंचभर भी नहीं हटा। ।। ९-४-४७ ।।

tAmApatantIM jvalatImasihastAM padA bhuvam | vepayantIM samudvIkSya na cacAla padAnnRpaH || 9-4-47 ||
