क्वाहं रजःप्रभव ईश तमोऽधिकेऽस्मिन् जातः सुरेतरकुले क्व तवानुकम्पा । न ब्रह्मणो न तु भवस्य न वै रमाया यन्मेऽर्पितः शिरसि पद्मकरः प्रसादः ।। ७-९-२६ ।।

O my Lord, O Supreme, because I was born in a family full of the hellish material qualities of passion and ignorance, what is my position? And what is to be said of Your causeless mercy, which was never offered even to Lord Brahmā, Lord Śiva or the goddess of fortune, Lakṣmī? You never put Your lotus hand upon their heads, but You have put it upon mine. ।। 7-9-26 ।।

english translation

हे प्रभु, हे परमात्मा, कहाँ घोर नारकीय रजो तथा तमोगुणी परिवार में उत्पन्न हुआ मैं और कहाँ आपकी अहैतुकी कृपा जो ब्रह्माजी, शिव जी या लक्ष्मी जी को कभी प्राप्त नहीं हो पाई? आप कभी भी इनके सिरों पर अपना कमल जैसा हाथ नहीं रखते, किन्तु आपने मेरे सिर पर इसे रखा है। ।। ७-९-२६ ।।

नैषा परावरमतिर्भवतो ननु स्याज्जन्तोर्यथाऽऽत्मसुहृदो जगतस्तथापि । संसेवया सुरतरोरिव ते प्रसादः सेवानुरूपमुदयो न परावरत्वम् ।। ७-९-२७ ।।

Unlike an ordinary living entity, my Lord, You do not discriminate between friends and enemies, the favorable and the unfavorable, because for You there is no conception of higher and lower. Nonetheless, You offer Your benedictions according to the level of one’s service, exactly as a desire tree delivers fruits according to one’s desires and makes no distinction between the lower and the higher. ।। 7-9-27 ।।

english translation

हे भगवान्, आप सामान्य जीवों की तरह मित्र तथा शत्रु एवं अनुकूल तथा प्रतिकूल के मध्य भेदभाव नहीं बरतते, क्योंकि आप में ऊँच-नीच की कोई भावना नहीं है। फिर भी आप सेवा के स्तर के अनुसार ही अपना आशीष प्रदान करते हैं ठीक उसी प्रकार जिस प्रकार कल्पवृक्ष इच्छाओं के अनुसार ही फल देता है और ऊँच-नीच में भेदभाव नहीं बरतता। ।। ७-९-२७ ।।

My dear Lord, O Supreme Personality of Godhead, because of my association with material desires, one after another, I was gradually falling into a blind well full of snakes, following the general populace. But Your servant Nārada Muni kindly accepted me as his disciple and instructed me how to achieve this transcendental position. Therefore, my first duty is to serve him. How could I leave his service? ।। 7-9-28 ।।

हे भगवान्, मैं एक-एक करके भौतिक इच्छाओं की संगति में आने से सामान्य लोगों का अनुगमन करते हुए सर्पों के अन्धे कुएँ में गिरता जा रहा था। किन्तु आपके दास नारद मुनि ने कृपा करके मुझे अपने शिष्य के रूप में स्वीकार कर लिया और मुझे यह शिक्षा दी कि इस दिव्य पद को किस तरह प्राप्त किया जाये। अतएव मेरा पहला कर्तव्य है कि मैं उनकी सेवा करूँ। भला मैं उनकी यह सेवा कैसे छोड़ सकता हूँ? ।। ७-९-२८ ।।

My Lord, O unlimited reservoir of transcendental qualities, You have killed my father, Hiraṇyakaśipu, and saved me from his sword. He had said very angrily, “If there is any supreme controller other than me, let Him save you. I shall now sever your head from your body.” Therefore I think that both in saving me and in killing him, You have acted just to prove true the words of Your devotee. There is no other cause. ।। 7-9-29 ।।

english translation

हे भगवान्, हे दिव्य गुणों के असीम आगार, आपने मेरे पिता हिरण्यकशिपु का वध किया है और मुझे उनकी तलवार से बचा लिया है। उन्होंने अत्यन्त क्रुद्ध होकर कहा था “यदि मेरे अतिरिक्त कोई परम नियन्ता है, तो वह तुम्हें बचाए। अब मैं तुम्हारे सिर को तुम्हारे शरीर से काटकर अलग कर दूँगा।” अतएव मैं सोच रहा हूँ कि मुझे बचाने तथा उन्हें मारने—दोनों ही कार्यों में आपने अपने भक्त के वचनों को सत्य करने के लिए ही कर्म किया है। इसका कोई अन्य कारण नहीं है। ।। ७-९-२९ ।।

My dear Lord, You alone manifest Yourself as the entire cosmic manifestation, for You existed before the creation, You exist after the annihilation, and You are the maintainer between the beginning and the end. All this is done by Your external energy through actions and reactions of the three modes of material nature. Therefore whatever exists — externally and internally — is You alone. ।। 7-9-30 ।।

हे भगवान्, अकेले आप ही अपने आपको विराट् जगत के रूप में प्रकट करते हैं, क्योंकि आप सृष्टि के पूर्व विद्यमान थे, संहार के बाद भी विद्यमान रहते हैं और आदि तथा अन्त के बीच में पालक होते हैं। यह सब प्रकृति के तीनों गुणों की क्रिया-प्रतिक्रिया के माध्यम से आपकी बहिरंगा शक्ति द्वारा किया जाता है। अतएव भीतर तथा बाहर जो कुछ भी विद्यमान है, वह केवल आप हैं। ।। ७-९-३० ।।
