श्रीहिरण्यकशिपुरुवाच हे दुर्विनीत मन्दात्मन् कुलभेदकराधम । स्तब्धं मच्छासनोद्धूतं नेष्ये त्वाद्य यमक्षयम् ।। ७-८-६ ।।

sanskrit

Hiraṇyakaśipu said: O most impudent, most unintelligent disruptor of the family, O lowest of mankind, you have violated my power to rule you, and therefore you are an obstinate fool. Today I shall send you to the place of Yamarāja. ।। 7-8-6 ।।

english translation

हिरण्यकशिपु ने कहा : अरे उद्दण्ड, निपट दुर्बुद्धि, परिवार को फोडऩे वाले! अरे नीच! तुमने अपने ऊपर शासन करने वाली शक्ति का उल्लघंन किया है, अतएव तू हठी मूर्ख है। आज मैं तुझे यमराज के घर भेजूंगा। ।। ७-८-६ ।।

क्रुद्धस्य यस्य कम्पन्ते त्रयो लोकाः सहेश्वराः । तस्य मेऽभीतवन्मूढ शासनं किं बलोऽत्यगाः ।। ७-८-७ ।।

sanskrit

My son Prahlāda, you rascal, you know that when I am angry all the planets of the three worlds tremble, along with their chief rulers. By whose power has a rascal like you become so impudent that you appear fearless and overstep my power to rule you? ।। 7-8-7 ।।

english translation

मेरे दुष्ट पुत्र प्रह्लाद! तुम जानते हो कि जब मैं क्रुद्ध होता हूँ तो तीनों लोक अपने-अपने नायकों सहित काँपने लगते हैं। तो फिर तुम किसके बल पर इतने धृष्ट हो गये हो कि तुम निर्भीक होकर मेरी आज्ञा का उल्लंघन कर रहे हो? ।। ७-८-७ ।।

प्रह्लाद उवाच न केवलं मे भवतश्च राजन् स वै बलं बलिनां चापरेषाम् । परेऽवरेऽमी स्थिरजङ्गमा ये ब्रह्मादयो येन वशं प्रणीताः ।। ७-८-८ ।।

Prahlāda Mahārāja said: My dear King, the source of my strength, of which you are asking, is also the source of yours. Indeed, the original source of all kinds of strength is one. He is not only your strength or mine, but the only strength for everyone. Without Him, no one can get any strength. Whether moving or not moving, superior or inferior, everyone, including Lord Brahmā, is controlled by the strength of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. ।। 7-8-8 ।।

english translation

प्रह्लाद महाराज ने कहा, हे राजन्, आप जिस बल के मेरे स्रोत को जानना चाह रहे हैं वह आपके बल का भी स्रोत है। निस्सन्देह, समस्त प्रकार के बलों का मूल स्रोत एक ही है। वह न केवल आपका या मेरा बल है, अपितु सबों का एकमात्र बल है। उसके बिना किसी को कोई बल नहीं मिल सकता। चाहे चल हो या अचल, उच्च हो या नीच, ब्रह्मा समेत सारे जीव भगवान् के बल द्वारा नियंत्रित हैं। ।। ७-८-८ ।।

स ईश्वरः काल उरुक्रमोऽसावोजःसहःसत्त्वबलेन्द्रियात्मा । स एव विश्वं परमः स्वशक्तिभिः सृजत्यवत्यत्ति गुणत्रयेशः ।। ७-८-९ ।।

sanskrit

The Supreme Personality of Godhead, who is the supreme controller and time factor, is the power of the senses, the power of the mind, the power of the body, and the vital force of the senses. His influence is unlimited. He is the best of all living entities, the controller of the three modes of material nature. By His own power, He creates this cosmic manifestation, maintains it and annihilates it also. ।। 7-8-9 ।।

english translation

परम नियन्ता एवं काल रूप भगवान् इन्द्रियों के बल, मन के बल, शरीर के बल तथा इन्द्रियों के प्राण हैं। उनका प्रभाव असीम है। वे समस्त जीवों में श्रेष्ठ तथा प्रकृति के तीनों गुणों के नियन्ता हैं। वे अपनी शक्ति से इस ब्रह्माण्ड का सृजन, पालन तथा संहार करते हैं। ।। ७-८-९ ।।

जह्यासुरं भावमिमं त्वमात्मनः समं मनो धत्स्व न सन्ति विद्विषः । ऋतेऽजितादात्मन उत्पथस्थितात्तद्धि ह्यनन्तस्य महत्समर्हणम् ।। ७-८-१० ।।

sanskrit

Prahlāda Mahārāja continued: My dear father, please give up your demoniac mentality. Do not discriminate in your heart between enemies and friends; make your mind equipoised toward everyone. Except for the uncontrolled and misguided mind, there is no enemy within this world. When one sees everyone on the platform of equality, one then comes to the position of worshiping the Lord perfectly. ।। 7-8-10 ।।

english translation

प्रह्लाद महाराज ने कहा : हे पिता, आप अपनी आसुरी प्रवृत्ति त्याग दें। आप अपने हृदय में शत्रु-मित्र में भेदभाव न लाएँ, आप अपने मन को सबों के प्रति समभाव बनाएँ। इस संसार में अनियंत्रित तथा पथभ्रष्ट मन के अतिरिक्त कोई शत्रु नहीं है। जब कोई मनुष्य प्रत्येक व्यक्ति को समता के पद पर देखता है तभी वह भगवान् की ठीक से पूजा करने की स्थिति में होता है। ।। ७-८-१० ।।
