तत्तु कालस्य दीर्घत्वात्स्त्रीत्वान्मातुस्तिरोदधे । ऋषिणानुगृहीतं मां नाधुनाप्यजहात्स्मृतिः ।। ७-७-१६ ।।

sanskrit

Because of the long duration of time that has passed and because of her being a woman and therefore less intelligent, my mother has forgotten all those instructions; but the great sage Nārada blessed me, and therefore I could not forget them. ।। 7-7-16 ।।

english translation

अधिक काल बीत जाने तथा स्त्री होने से अल्पज्ञ होने के कारण मेरी माता उन सारे उपदेशों को भूल गईं, किन्तु ऋषि नारद ने मुझे आशीर्वाद दिया था, अतएव मैं नहीं भूल पाया। ।। ७-७-१६ ।।

भवतामपि भूयान्मे यदि श्रद्दधते वचः । वैशारदी धीः श्रद्धातः स्त्रीबालानां च मे यथा ।। ७-७-१७ ।।

sanskrit

Prahlāda Mahārāja continued: My dear friends, if you can place your faith in my words, simply by that faith you can also understand transcendental knowledge, just like me, although you are small children. Similarly, a woman can also understand transcendental knowledge and know what is spirit and what is matter. ।। 7-7-17 ।।

english translation

प्रह्लाद महाराज ने कहा : हे मित्रों, यदि तुम मेरी बातों पर श्रद्धा करो तो तुम भी उसी श्रद्धा से मेरे ही समान दिव्य ज्ञान को समझ सकते हो, भले ही तुम सभी छोटे-छोटे बालक क्यों न हो। इसी प्रकार एक स्त्री भी दिव्य ज्ञान को समझ सकती है और यह जान सकती है कि आत्मा क्या है तथा भौतिक पदार्थ क्या है। ।। ७-७-१७ ।।

जन्माद्याः षडिमे भावा दृष्टा देहस्य नात्मनः । फलानामिव वृक्षस्य कालेनेश्वरमूर्तिना ।। ७-७-१८ ।।

sanskrit

Just as the fruits and flowers of a tree in due course of time undergo six changes — birth, existence, growth, transformation, dwindling and then death — the material body, which is obtained by the spirit soul under different circumstances, undergoes similar changes. However, there are no such changes for the spirit soul. ।। 7-7-18 ।।

english translation

जिस प्रकार वृक्ष के फलों तथा फूलों में कालक्रम से छ: प्रकार के परिवर्तन—जन्म, अस्तित्व, वृद्धि, रूपान्तर, क्षय तथा अन्त में मृत्यु—होते हैं उसी प्रकार विभिन्न परिस्थितियों में आत्मा को जो भौतिक शरीर प्राप्त होता है उसमें भी ऐसे ही परिवर्तन होते हैं। किन्तु आत्मा में ऐसे परिवर्तन नहीं होते। ।। ७-७-१८ ।।

आत्मा नित्योऽव्ययः शुद्ध एकः क्षेत्रज्ञ आश्रयः । अविक्रियः स्वदृग् हेतुर्व्यापकोऽसङ्ग्यनावृतः ।। ७-७-१९ ।।

“Ātmā” refers to the Supreme Lord or the living entities. Both of them are spiritual, free from birth and death, free from deterioration and free from material contamination. They are individual, they are the knowers of the external body, and they are the foundation or shelter of everything. They are free from material change, they are self-illuminated, they are the cause of all causes, and they are all-pervading. ।। 7-7-19 ।।

english translation

‘आत्मा’ परमेश्वर या जीवों का सूचक है। ये दोनों ही आध्यात्मिक हैं, जन्म-मृत्यु से मुक्त हैं तथा क्षय से रहित एवं भौतिक कल्मष से भी मुक्त हैं। ये व्यष्टि हैं, ये बाह्य शरीर के ज्ञाता हैं, प्रत्येक वस्तु के आश्रय या आधार हैं। ये भौतिक परिवर्तन से मुक्त हैं, ये आत्मप्रकाशित हैं, ये समस्त कारणों के कारण हैं तथा सर्वव्यापी हैं। ।। ७-७-१९ ।।

एतैर्द्वादशभिर्विद्वानात्मनो लक्षणैः परैः । अहं ममेत्यसद्भावं देहादौ मोहजं त्यजेत् ।। ७-७-२० ।।

They have nothing to do with the material body, and therefore they are always uncovered. With these transcendental qualities, one who is actually learned must give up the illusory conception of life, in which one thinks, “I am this material body, and everything in relationship with this body is mine.”_____"1. Without the support of the soul, the existence of the physical body is not possible." 2. "As mentioned earlier, just like trees bear fruits and flowers, remain, grow, transform, diminish, and eventually perish according to the changing seasons, yet they remain essentially the same. Similarly, the soul is free from all changes." 3. "There is no need to reveal the soul; it manifests itself. Humans can comprehend with simplicity that the living body contains the soul."______ ।। 7-7-20 ।।

इन्हें भौतिक शरीर से कोई सरोकार नहीं रहता, अतएव ये सदैव अनाकृष्ट रहते हैं। इस दिव्य गुणों से युक्त जो मनुष्य वास्तव में विद्वान है उसे जीवन की भ्रान्त धारणा का परित्याग करना चाहिए जिसमें वह सोचता है “मैं यह भौतिक शरीर हूँ और इस शरीर से सम्बन्धित प्रत्येक वस्तु मेरी है।” _____ स्नशशह्लठ्ठशह्लद्ग ह्यह्लड्डह्म्ह्लह्य ॥ द्गह्म्द्ग: १.आत्मा के आश्रय बिना भौतिक शरीर का अस्तित्व नहीं हो सकता। २.जैसाकि पहले बताया जा चुका है वृक्ष में फल-फूल जन्म लेते हैं, लगे रहते हैं, बढ़ते हैं, रूपान्तरित होते हैं, क्षीण होते हैं और ऋतु-परिवर्तन के अनुसार विनष्ट होते हैं, किन्तु इतने सारे परिवर्तनों के होते हुए भी वृक्ष वैसे का वैसा रहता है। इसी प्रकार आत्मा समस्त परिवर्तनों से मुक्त है। ३.किसी को आत्मा को प्रकट करने की आवश्यकता नहीं पड़ती, वह स्वयं प्रकट है। मनुष्य सरलता से समझ सकता है कि जीवित शरीर में आत्मा है। स्नशशह्लठ्ठशह्लद्ग श्वठ्ठस्रह्य ॥ द्गह्म्द्ग:"____।। ७-७-२० ।।
