हिरण्यकशिपुरुवाच कल्पान्ते कालसृष्टेन योऽन्धेन तमसाऽऽवृतम् । अभिव्यनग्जगदिदं स्वयञ्ज्योतिः स्वरोचिषा ।। ७-३-२६ ।।

sanskrit

Let me offer my respectful obeisances unto the supreme lord within this universe. At the end of each day of his life, the universe is fully covered with dense darkness by the influence of time, and then again, during his next day, ।। 7-3-26 ।।

english translation

मैं इस ब्रह्माण्ड के परम स्वामी को सादर नमस्कार करता हूँ। उनके जीवन के प्रत्येक दिन के अन्त में यह ब्रह्माण्ड काल के प्रभाव से घने अंधकार द्वारा आच्छादित हो जाता है और दूसरे दिन पुन: ।। ७-३-२६ ।।

आत्मना त्रिवृता चेदं सृजत्यवति लुम्पति । रजःसत्त्वतमोधाम्ने पराय महते नमः ।। ७-३-२७ ।।

sanskrit

That self-effulgent lord, by his own effulgence, manifests, maintains and destroys the entire cosmic manifestation through the material energy, which is invested with the three modes of material nature. He, Lord Brahmā, is the shelter of those modes of nature — sattva-guṇa, rajo-guṇa and tamo-guṇa. ।। 7-3-27 ।।

english translation

वही आत्म-तेजस्वी स्वामी अपने निजी तेज से अपनी भौतिक शक्ति के माध्यम से, जो प्रकृति के तीन गुणों से युक्त है, सम्पूर्ण जगत का सृजन, पालन तथा संहार करता है। वे ब्रह्माजी ही सतोगुण, रजोगुण तथा तमोगुण—इन तीन प्रकृति के गुणों के आधार हैं। ।। ७-३-२७ ।।

नम आद्याय बीजाय ज्ञानविज्ञानमूर्तये । प्राणेन्द्रियमनोबुद्धिविकारैर्व्यक्तिमीयुषे ।। ७-३-२८ ।।

sanskrit

I offer my obeisances to the original personality within this universe, Lord Brahmā, who is cognizant and who can apply his mind and realized intelligence in creating this cosmic manifestation. It is because of his activities that everything within the universe is visible. He is therefore the cause of all manifestations. ।। 7-3-28 ।।

english translation

“मैं इस ब्रह्माण्ड के आदि पुरुष ब्रह्माजी को नमस्कार करता हूँ जो ज्ञान विशेष हैं तथा जो इस विराट जगत को उत्पन्न करने में मन तथा अनुभूत बुद्धि का उपयोग कर सकते हैं। उनके कार्य-कलापों के ही कारण इस ब्रह्माण्ड में हर वस्तु दृष्टिगोचर हो रही है, अतएव वे समग्र अभिव्यक्तियों के कारण हैं।” ।। ७-३-२८ ।।

त्वमीशिषे जगतस्तस्थुषश्च प्राणेन मुख्येन पतिः प्रजानाम् । चित्तस्य चित्तेर्मन ऐन्द्रियाणां पतिर्महान् भूतगुणाशयेशः ।। ७-३-२९ ।।

Your Lordship, being the origin of the life of this material world, is the master and controller of the living entities, both moving and stationary, and you inspire their consciousness. You maintain the mind and the acting and knowledge-acquiring senses, and therefore you are the great controller of all the material elements and their qualities, and you are the controller of all desires. ।। 7-3-29 ।।

english translation

“आप ही इस भौतिक जगत के जीवन के उद्गम होने से चर तथा अचर दोनों प्रकार के जीवों के स्वामी तथा नियन्ता हैं और उनकी चेतना को प्रेरित करते रहते हैं। आप मन और कर्म तथा ज्ञान की इन्द्रियों को धारण करते हैं अतएव आप समस्त भौतिक तत्त्वों तथा उनके गुणों के महान् नियन्ता हैं। आप समस्त इच्छाओं के भी नियन्ता हैं।” ।। ७-३-२९ ।।

त्वं सप्ततन्तून् वितनोषि तन्वा त्रय्या चातुर्होत्रकविद्यया च । त्वमेक आत्माऽऽत्मवतामनादिरनन्तपारः कविरन्तरात्मा ।। ७-३-३० ।।

sanskrit

My dear lord, by your form as the Vedas personified and through knowledge relating to the activities of all the yajñic brāhmaṇas, you spread the Vedic ritualistic ceremonies of the seven kinds of sacrifices, headed by agniṣṭoma. Indeed, you inspire the yajñic brāhmaṇas to perform the rituals mentioned in the three Vedas. Being the Supreme Soul, the Supersoul of all living entities, you are beginningless, endless and omniscient, beyond the limits of time and space. ।। 7-3-30 ।।

english translation

“हे प्रभु, आप साक्षात् वेदों के रूप में तथा समस्त याज्ञिक ब्राह्मणों के कार्यकलापों से सम्बन्धित ज्ञान के द्वारा अग्निष्टोम इत्यादि सात प्रकार के यज्ञों के वैदिक अनुष्ठानों का विस्तार करते हैं। निस्सन्देह, आप याज्ञिक ब्राह्मणों को तीनों वेदों में उल्लिखित अनुष्ठानों को सम्पन्न करने के लिए प्रेरित करते हैं। समस्त जीवों की अन्तरात्मा होने से आप आदिरहित, अन्तरहित तथा सर्वज्ञ हैं, आप काल तथा देश की सीमाओं के परे हैं।” ।। ७-३-३० ।।
