Srimad Bhagavatam
आत्मना त्रिवृता चेदं सृजत्यवति लुम्पति । रजःसत्त्वतमोधाम्ने पराय महते नमः ॥ ७-३-२७ ॥
That self-effulgent lord, by his own effulgence, manifests, maintains and destroys the entire cosmic manifestation through the material energy, which is invested with the three modes of material nature. He, Lord Brahmā, is the shelter of those modes of nature — sattva-guṇa, rajo-guṇa and tamo-guṇa. ॥ 7-3-27 ॥
english translation
वही आत्म-तेजस्वी स्वामी अपने निजी तेज से अपनी भौतिक शक्ति के माध्यम से, जो प्रकृति के तीन गुणों से युक्त है, सम्पूर्ण जगत का सृजन, पालन तथा संहार करता है। वे ब्रह्माजी ही सतोगुण, रजोगुण तथा तमोगुण—इन तीन प्रकृति के गुणों के आधार हैं। ॥ ७-३-२७ ॥
