एकदा देवसत्रे तु गन्धर्वाप्सरसां गणाः । उपहूता विश्वसृग्भिर्हरिगाथोपगायने ॥ ७-१५-७१ ॥
Once there was a saṅkīrtana festival to glorify the Supreme Lord in an assembly of the demigods, and the Gandharvas and Apsarās were invited by the prajāpatis to take part in it. ॥ 7-15-71 ॥

एक बार देवताओं की सभा में भगवान् की महिमा के गायन के लिए एक संकीर्तन किया गया जिसमें गन्धर्वों तथा अप्सराओं को भाग लेने के लिए प्रजापतियों ने आमंत्रित किया। ॥ ७-१५-७१ ॥

अहं च गायंस्तद्विद्वान् स्त्रीभिः परिवृतो गतः । ज्ञात्वा विश्वसृजस्तन्मे हेलनं शेपुरोजसा । याहि त्वं शूद्रतामाशु नष्टश्रीः कृतहेलनः ॥ ७-१५-७२ ॥
Nārada Muni continued: Being invited to that festival, I also joined, and, surrounded by women, I began musically singing the glories of the demigods. Because of this, the prajāpatis, the great demigods in charge of the affairs of the universe, forcefully cursed me with these words: “Because you have committed an offense, may you immediately become a śūdra, devoid of beauty.” ॥ 7-15-72 ॥

नारद मुनि ने आगे कहा : उत्सव में बुलाये जाने पर मैं भी वहां गया। स्त्रियों से घिर कर मैंने देवताओं की महिमा का संगीतात्मक गायन प्रारम्भ किया। इसके कारण प्रजापितयों ने मुझे इन शब्दों में बलात् शाप दे डाला “चूँकि तुमने अपराध किया है अतएव तुम तुरन्त सौन्दर्य से विहीन शूद्र बन जाओ।” ॥ ७-१५-७२ ॥

तावद्दास्यामहं जज्ञे तत्रापि ब्रह्मवादिनाम् । शुश्रूषयानुषङ्गेण प्राप्तोऽहं ब्रह्मपुत्रताम् ॥ ७-१५-७३ ॥
Although I took birth as a śūdra from the womb of a maidservant, I engaged in the service of Vaiṣṇavas who were well-versed in Vedic knowledge. Consequently, in this life I got the opportunity to take birth as the son of Lord Brahmā. ॥ 7-15-73 ॥

यद्यपि मैंने एक दासी के गर्भ से शूद्र के रूप में जन्म लिया किन्तु मैं वैदिक ज्ञान में पारंगत वैष्णवों की सेवा में लग गया। फलस्वरूप इस जीवन में मुझे ब्रह्माजी के पुत्र रूप में जन्म लेने का सौभाग्य प्राप्त हुआ। ॥ ७-१५-७३ ॥

धर्मस्ते गृहमेधीयो वर्णितः पापनाशनः । गृहस्थो येन पदवीमञ्जसा न्यासिनामियात् ॥ ७-१५-७४ ॥
The process of chanting the holy name of the Lord is so powerful that by this chanting even householders [gṛhasthas] can very easily gain the ultimate result achieved by persons in the renounced order. Mahārāja Yudhiṣṭhira, I have now explained to you that process of religion. ॥ 7-15-74 ॥

भगवान् के पवित्र नाम का संकीर्तन इतना शक्तिशाली है कि इससे गृहस्थ भी उसी चरम फल को सरलता से प्राप्त कर लेते हैं, जो संन्यासियों को प्राप्त होता है। हे महाराज युधिष्ठिर, मैंने तुम्हें धर्म की वह विधि बतला दी है। ॥ ७-१५-७४ ॥

यूयं नृलोके बत भूरिभागा लोकं पुनाना मुनयोऽभियन्ति । येषां गृहानावसतीति साक्षाद्गूढं परं ब्रह्म मनुष्यलिङ्गम् ॥ ७-१५-७५ ॥
My dear Mahārāja Yudhiṣṭhira, you Pāṇḍavas are so very fortunate in this world that many, many great saints, who can purify all the planets of the universe, come to your house just like ordinary visitors. Furthermore, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Kṛṣṇa, is living confidentially with you in your house, just like your brother. ॥ 7-15-75 ॥

हे महाराज युधिष्ठिर, तुम सभी पाण्डव इस संसार में इतने भाग्यशाली हो कि ब्रह्माण्ड के समस्त लोकों को पवित्र करने वाले अनेकानेक सन्तजन तुम्हारे घर में सामान्य दर्शक के रूप में आते हैं। साथ ही, भगवान् कृष्ण तुम्हारे घर में गोपनीय ढंग से तुम्हारे भाई के समान रह रहे हैं। ॥ ७-१५-७५ ॥
