क्षित्यादीनामिहार्थानां छाया न कतमापि हि । न सङ्घातो विकारोऽपि न पृथङ् नान्वितो मृषा ॥ ७-१५-५९ ‌॥

In this world there are five elements — namely earth, water, fire, air and ether — but the body is not a reflection of them, nor a combination or transformation of them. Because the body and its ingredients are neither distinct nor amalgamated, all such theories are insubstantial. ॥ 7-15-59 ॥

english translation

इस जगत में पाँच तत्त्व हैं—पृथ्वी, जल, अग्नि, वायु तथा आकाश। किन्तु शरीर न तो उनका प्रतिबिम्ब है, न उनका संयोग या उनका रूपान्तर। चूँकि शरीर तथा इसके अवयव न तो पृथक्-पृथक् हैं, न मिश्रित अतएव ऐसे सारे सिद्धान्त निराधार हैं। ॥ ७-१५-५९ ॥
