सुप्तिमूर्च्छोपतापेषु प्राणायनविघाततः । नेहतेऽहमिति ज्ञानं मृत्युप्रज्वारयोरपि ।। ४-२९-७१ ।।

sanskrit

When the living entity is in deep sleep, when he faints, when there is some great shock on account of severe loss, at the time of death, or when the body temperature is very high, the movement of the life air is arrested. At that time the living entity loses knowledge of identifying the body with the self. ।। 4-29-71 ।।

english translation

जब जीव गाढ़ निद्रा, मूर्च्छा, किसी गंभीर क्षति से उत्पन्न गहन आघात, मृत्यु के समय या प्रखर ज्वर की अवस्था में रहता है, तो प्राण-वायु का संचरण रुक जाता है। उस समय जीव आत्मा से शरीर की पहचान करने का ज्ञान खो देता है। ।। ४-२९-७१ ।।
