Srimad Bhagavatam
गर्भे बाल्येऽप्यपौष्कल्यादेकादशविधं तदा । लिङ्गं न दृश्यते यूनः कुह्वां चन्द्रमसो यथा ॥ ४-२९-७२ ॥
When one is a youth, all the ten senses and the mind are completely visible. However, in the mother’s womb or in the boyhood state, the sense organs and the mind remain covered, just as the full moon is covered by the darkness of the dark-moon night. ॥ 4-29-72 ॥
english translation
जब मनुष्य तरुण होता है, तो दसों इन्द्रियाँ तथा मन पूरी तरह दिखाई पड़ते हैं, किन्तु माता के गर्भ या बाल्यकाल में इन्द्रियाँ तथा मन उसी तरह ढके रहते हैं जिस तरह अमावस्या की रात्रि के अंधकार से पूर्ण-चन्द्रमा ढका रहता है। ॥ ४-२९-७२ ॥
