आस्तीर्य दर्भैः प्रागग्रैः कार्त्स्न्येन क्षितिमण्डलम् । स्तब्धो बृहद्वधान्मानी कर्म नावैषि यत्परम् । तत्कर्म हरितोषं यत्सा विद्या तन्मतिर्यया ।। ४-२९-४९ ।।

My dear King, the entire world is covered with the sharp points of kuśa grass, and on the strength of this you have become proud because you have killed various types of animals in sacrifices. Because of your foolishness, you do not know that devotional service is the only way one can please the Supreme Personality of Godhead. You cannot understand this fact. Your only activities should be those that can please the Personality of Godhead. Our education should be such that we can become elevated to Kṛṣṇa consciousness. ।। 4-29-49 ।।

english translation

हे राजन्, सारा संसार कुशों के तीखे अग्र भाग से ढका है और इस कारण तुम्हें अभिमान हो गया है क्योंकि तुमने यज्ञों में अनेक प्रकार के पशुओं का वध किया है। अपनी मूर्खतावश तुम्हें यह ज्ञात नहीं है कि भगवान् को प्रसन्न करने का एकमात्र उपाय भक्ति है। तुम इस तथ्य को नहीं समझ सकते। तुम्हें वे ही कार्य करने चाहिए जिनसे भगवान् प्रसन्न हों। हमारी शिक्षा ऐसी होनी चाहिए कि हम कृष्णचेतना के स्तर तक ऊपर उठ सकें। ।। ४-२९-४९ ।।
