तथा कामाशयो जीव उच्चावचपथा भ्रमन् । उपर्यधो वा मध्ये वा याति दिष्टं प्रियाप्रियम् ।। ४-२९-३१ ।।

Similarly, the living entity, being influenced by so many desires, wanders in different species of life according to destiny. Sometimes he is high, and sometimes he is low. Sometimes he goes to the heavenly planets, sometimes to hell, sometimes to the middle planets, and so on. ।। 4-29-31 ।।

english translation

इसी प्रकार, जीव भी अनेकानेक इच्छाओं के वशीभूत होकर अपने भाग्य के अनुसार विभिन्न योनियों में भटकता रहता है। कभी वह उच्च स्थान प्राप्त करता है, तो कभी निम्न स्थान। कभी वह स्वर्ग को जाता है, कभी नरक को, तो कभी मध्य लोकों को और ऐसा चलता रहता है। ।। ४-२९-३१ ।।
