क्षुत्परीतो यथा दीनः सारमेयो गृहं गृहम् । चरन् विन्दति यद्दिष्टं दण्डमोदनमेव वा ॥ ४-२९-३० ॥

The living entity is exactly like a dog who, overcome with hunger, goes from door to door for some food. According to his destiny, he sometimes receives punishment and is driven out and at other times receives a little food to eat. ॥ 4-29-30 ॥

english translation

यह जीव ठीक उस कुत्ते के तुल्य है, जो भूख से परेशान भोजन पाने के लिए द्वार-द्वार जाता है। अपने प्रारब्ध के अनुसार वह कभी दण्ड पाता है और खदेड़ दिया जाता है, अथवा कभी- कभी खाने को थोड़ा भोजन भी पा जाता है। ॥ ४-२९-३० ॥
