स व्यापकतयाऽऽत्मानं व्यतिरिक्ततयाऽऽत्मनि । विद्वान् स्वप्न इवामर्शसाक्षिणं विरराम ह ।। ४-२८-४० ।।

King Malayadhvaja attained perfect knowledge by being able to distinguish the Supersoul from the individual soul. The individual soul is localized, whereas the Supersoul is all-pervasive. He became perfect in knowledge that the material body is not the soul but that the soul is the witness of the material body. ।। 4-28-40 ।।

english translation

आत्मा और परमात्मा में अन्तर कर सकने के कारण राजा मलयध्वज ने पूर्ण ज्ञान प्राप्त कर लिया। आत्मा एक-स्थानिक है, जबकि परमात्मा सर्वव्यापी है। यह भौतिक देह आत्मा नहीं है, अपितु आत्मा इस भौतिक देह का साक्षी है—उन्हें इसका पूरा-पूरा ज्ञान हो गया। ।। ४-२८-४० ।।
