पुरीं विहायोपगत उपरुद्धो भुजङ्गमः । यदा तमेवानु पुरी विशीर्णा प्रकृतिं गता ।। ४-२८-२४ ।।

sanskrit

The serpent, who had already been arrested by the soldiers of Yavana-rāja and was out of the city, began to follow his master along with the others. As soon as they all left the city, it was immediately dismantled and smashed to dust. ।। 4-28-24 ।।

english translation

वह सर्प भी, जिसे यवनराज के सैनिकों ने बन्दी बनाकर पहले ही नगरी के बाहर कर दिया था, अन्यों के साथ अपने स्वामी के पीछे-पीछे चलपड़ा। ज्योंही इन सबों ने नगरी को छोड़ दिया त्योंही वह नगरी तहस-नहस (ध्वस्त) होकर धूल में मिल गई। ।। ४-२८-२४ ।।

purIM vihAyopagata uparuddho bhujaGgamaH | yadA tamevAnu purI vizIrNA prakRtiM gatA || 4-28-24 ||
