एष साक्षाद्धरेरंशो जातो लोकरिरक्षया । इयं च तत्परा हि श्रीरनुजज्ञेऽनपायिनी ।। ४-१५-६ ।।

sanskrit

In the form of King Pṛthu, the Supreme Personality of Godhead has appeared through a part of His potency to protect the people of the world. The goddess of fortune is the constant companion of the Lord, and therefore she has incarnated partially as Arci to become King Pṛthu’s queen. ।। 4-15-6 ।।

english translation

राजा पृथु के रूप में, भगवान् अपनी शक्ति के एक अंश से संसार के लोगों की रक्षा के लिए प्रकट हुए हैं। सम्पत्ति की देवी भगवान् की निरन्तर सहचरी हैं, अत: वे अंश रूप में राजा पृथु की रानी बनने के लिए अर्चि रूप में अवतरित हुई हैं। ।। ४-१५-६ ।।

मैत्रेय उवाच प्रशंसन्ति स्म तं विप्रा गन्धर्वप्रवरा जगुः । मुमुचुः सुमनोधाराः सिद्धा नृत्यन्ति स्वःस्त्रियः ।। ४-१५-७ ।।

sanskrit

The great sage Maitreya continued: My dear Vidurajī, at that time all the brāhmaṇas highly praised and glorified King Pṛthu, and the best singers of Gandharvaloka chanted his glories. The inhabitants of Siddhaloka showered flowers, and the beautiful women in the heavenly planets danced in ecstasy. ।। 4-15-7 ।।

english translation

महर्षि मैत्रेय ने आगे कहा : हे विदुर जी, उस समय समस्त ब्राह्मणों ने राजा पृथु की प्रशंसा और स्तुति की और गन्धर्वलोक के सर्वश्रेष्ठ गायकों ने उनकी महिमा का गायन किया। सिद्धलोक के वासियों ने उन पर पुष्पवर्षा की और स्वर्ग की सुन्दरियाँ (अप्सराएँ) भाव विभोर होकर नाचने लगीं। ।। ४-१५-७ ।।

शङ्खतूर्यमृदङ्गाद्या नेदुर्दुन्दुभयो दिवि । तत्र सर्व उपाजग्मुर्देवर्षिपितॄणां गणाः ।। ४-१५-८ ।।

sanskrit

Conchshells, bugles, drums and kettledrums vibrated in outer space. Great sages, forefathers and personalities from the heavenly planets all came to earth from various planetary systems. ।। 4-15-8 ।।

english translation

अन्तरिक्ष में शंख, दुंदुभि, तुरही तथा मृदङ्ग बजने लगे। बड़े-बड़े मुनि, पितरगण तथा स्वर्ग के पुरुष विभिन्न लोकों से पृथ्वी पर आ गये। ।। ४-१५-८ ।।

ब्रह्मा जगद्गुरुर्देवैः सहासृत्य सुरेश्वरैः । वैन्यस्य दक्षिणे हस्ते दृष्ट्वा चिह्नं गदाभृतः ।। ४-१५-९ ।।

Lord Brahmā, the master of the entire universe, arrived there accompanied by all the demigods and their chiefs. Seeing the lines of Lord Viṣṇu’s palm on King Pṛthu’s right hand ।। 4-15-9 ।।

english translation

सम्पूर्ण ब्रह्माण्ड के स्वामी ब्रह्मा, देवताओं तथा उनके प्रमुखों सहित, वहाँ पधारे। राजा पृथु के दाहिने हाथ में विष्णु भगवान् की हथेली की रेखाएँ ।। ४-१५-९ ।।

brahmA jagadgururdevaiH sahAsRtya surezvaraiH | vainyasya dakSiNe haste dRSTvA cihnaM gadAbhRtaH || 4-15-9 ||

पादयोररविन्दं च तं वै मेने हरेः कलाम् । यस्याप्रतिहतं चक्रमंशः स परमेष्ठिनः ।। ४-१५-१० ।।

sanskrit

And impressions of lotus flowers on the soles of his feet, Lord Brahmā could understand that King Pṛthu was a partial representation of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. One whose palm bears the sign of a disc, as well as other such lines, should be considered a partial representation or incarnation of the Supreme Lord. ।। 4-15-10 ।।

english translation

तथा चरण के तलवों पर कमल का चिह्न देखकर ब्रह्मा समझ गये कि राजा पृथु भगवान् के अंश-स्वरूप थे। जिसकी हथेली में चक्र तथा अन्य ऐसी रेखाएँ हों, उसे परमेश्वर का अंश या अवतार समझना चाहिए। ।। ४-१५-१० ।।
