नभोगुणविशेषोऽर्थो यस्य तच्छ्रोत्रमुच्यते । वायोर्गुणविशेषोऽर्थो यस्य तत्स्पर्शनं विदुः ॥ ३-२६-४७ ॥

sanskrit

The sense whose object of perception is sound is called the auditory sense, and that whose object of perception is touch is called the tactile sense. ॥ 3-26-47 ॥

english translation

वह इन्द्रिय जिसका विषय शब्द है श्रवणेन्द्रिय और जिसका विषय स्पर्श है, वह त्वगिन्द्रिय कहलाती है। ॥ ३-२६-४७ ॥
