तितिक्षवः कारुणिकाः सुहृदः सर्वदेहिनाम् । अजातशत्रवः शान्ताः साधवः साधुभूषणाः ॥ ३-२५-२१ ॥
The symptoms of a sādhu are that he is tolerant, merciful and friendly to all living entities. He has no enemies, he is peaceful, he abides by the scriptures, and all his characteristics are sublime. ॥ 3-25-21 ॥

साधु के लक्षण हैं कि वह सहनशील, दयालु तथा समस्त जीवों के प्रति मैत्री-भाव रखता है। उसका कोई शत्रु नहीं होता, वह शान्त रहता है, वह शास्त्रों का पालन करता है और उसके सारे गुण अलौकिक होते हैं। ॥ ३-२५-२१ ॥

मय्यनन्येन भावेन भक्तिं कुर्वन्ति ये दृढाम् । मत्कृते त्यक्तकर्माणस्त्यक्तस्वजनबान्धवाः ॥ ३-२५-२२ ॥
Such a sādhu engages in staunch devotional service to the Lord without deviation. For the sake of the Lord he renounces all other connections, such as family relationships and friendly acquaintances within the world. ॥ 3-25-22 ॥

ऐसा साधु अविचलित भाव से भगवान् की कट्टर भक्ति करता है। भगवान् के लिए वह संसार के अन्य समस्त सम्बन्धों यथा पारिवारिक सम्बन्ध तथा मैत्री का परित्याग कर देता है। ॥ ३-२५-२२ ॥

मदाश्रयाः कथामृष्टाः शृण्वन्ति कथयन्ति च । तपन्ति विविधास्तापा नैतान्मद्गतचेतसः ॥ ३-२५-२३ ॥
Engaged constantly in chanting and hearing about Me, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, the sādhus do not suffer from material miseries because they are always filled with thoughts of My pastimes and activities. ॥ 3-25-23 ॥
english translation
निरन्तर मेरे अर्थात् पूर्ण पुरुषोत्तम भगवान के कीर्तन तथा श्रवण में संलग्न रहकर साधुगण किसी प्रकार का भौतिक कष्ट नहीं पाते, क्योंकि वे सैदव मेरी लीलाओं तथा कार्यकलापों के विचारों में ही निमग्न रहते हैं। ॥ ३-२५-२३ ॥

त एते साधवः साध्वि सर्वसङ्गविवर्जिताः । सङ्गस्तेष्वथ ते प्रार्थ्यः सङ्गदोषहरा हि ते ॥ ३-२५-२४ ॥
O My mother, O virtuous lady, these are the qualities of great devotees who are free from all attachment. You must seek attachment to such holy men, for this counteracts the pernicious effects of material attachment. ॥ 3-25-24 ॥

हे माते, हे साध्वी, ये उन महान् भक्तों के गुण हैं, जो समस्त आसक्तियों से मुक्त हैं। तुम्हें ऐसे पवित्र पुरुषों की संगति करनी चाहिए, क्योंकि ऐसी संगति भौतिक आसक्ति के समस्त कुप्रभावों को हरने वाली है। ॥ ३-२५-२४ ॥

सतां प्रसङ्गान्मम वीर्यसंविदो भवन्ति हृत्कर्णरसायनाः कथाः । तज्जोषणादाश्वपवर्गवर्त्मनि श्रद्धा रतिर्भक्तिरनुक्रमिष्यति ॥ ३-२५-२५ ॥
In the association of pure devotees, discussion of the pastimes and activities of the Supreme Personality of Godhead is very pleasing and satisfying to the ear and the heart. By cultivating such knowledge one gradually becomes advanced on the path of liberation, and thereafter he is freed, and his attraction becomes fixed. Then real devotion and devotional service begin. ॥ 3-25-25 ॥

शुद्ध भक्तों की संगति में श्रीभगवान् की लीलाओं तथा उनके कार्यकलापों की चर्चा कान तथा हृदय को अत्यधिक रोचक एवं प्रसन्न करने वाली होती है। ऐसे ज्ञान के अनुशीलन मे मनुष्य धीरे-धीरे मोक्ष मार्ग में अग्रसर होता है, तत्पश्चात् मुक्त हो जाता है और उसका आकर्षण स्थिर हो जाता है। तब असली समर्पण तथा भक्तियोग का शुभारम्भ होता है। ॥ ३-२५-२५ ॥
