तैजसात्तु विकुर्वाणादिन्द्रियाणि दशाभवन् । ज्ञानशक्तिः क्रियाशक्तिर्बुद्धिः प्राणश्च तैजसौ । श्रोत्रं त्वग्घ्राणदृग्जिह्वा वाग्दोर्मेढ्राङ्घ्रिपायवः ॥ २-५-३१ ॥
By further transformation of the mode of passion, the sense organs like the ear, skin, nose, eyes, tongue, mouth, hands, genitals, legs, and the outlet for evacuating, together with intelligence and living energy, are all generated. ॥ 2-5-31 ॥

रजोगुण में और अधिक विकार आने से बुद्धि तथा प्राण के साथ ही श्रवण, त्वचा, नाक, आँख, जीभ, मुँह, हाथ, जननेन्द्रिय, पाँव तथा मल विसर्जन की इन्द्रियाँ सभी उत्पन्न होती हैं। ॥ २-५-३१ ॥

यदैतेऽसङ्गता भावा भूतेन्द्रियमनोगुणाः । यदायतननिर्माणे न शेकुर्ब्रह्मवित्तम ॥ २-५-३२ ॥
O Nārada, best of the transcendentalists, the forms of the body cannot take place as long as these created parts, namely the elements, senses, mind and modes of nature, are not assembled. ॥ 2-5-32 ॥

हे योगियों में श्रेष्ठ नारद, जब तक ये सृजित अंग यथा तत्त्व, इन्द्रियाँ, मन तथा प्रकृति के गुण जुड़ नही जाते, तब तक शरीर स्वरूप धारण नहीं कर सकता। ॥ २-५-३२ ॥

तदा संहत्य चान्योन्यं भगवच्छक्तिचोदिताः । सदसत्त्वमुपादाय चोभयं ससृजुर्ह्यदः ॥ २-५-३३ ॥
Thus when all these became assembled by force of the energy of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, this universe certainly came into being by accepting both the primary and secondary causes of creation. ॥ 2-5-33 ॥

जब पूर्ण पुरुषोत्तम भगवान् की शक्ति के बल से ये सब एकत्र हो गये तो सृष्टि से मूल तथा गौण कारणों को स्वीकार करते हुए यह ब्रह्माण्ड अस्तित्व में आया। ॥ २-५-३३ ॥

वर्षपूगसहस्रान्ते तदण्डमुदकेशयम् । कालकर्मस्वभावस्थो जीवोऽजीवमजीवयत् ॥ २-५-३४ ॥
Thus all the universes remained thousands of aeons within the water [the Causal Ocean], and the Lord of living beings, entering in each of them, caused them to be fully animated. ॥ 2-5-34 ॥

इस प्रकार सारे ब्रह्माण्ड हजारों युगों तक जल के भीतर (कारण-जल में) पड़े रहे। समस्त जीवों के स्वामी ने उन सबमें प्रवेश करके उन्हें पूरी तरह सजीव बनाया। ॥ २-५-३४ ॥

स एव पुरुषस्तस्मादण्डं निर्भिद्य निर्गतः । सहस्रोर्वङ्घ्रिबाह्वक्षः सहस्राननशीर्षवान् ॥ २-५-३५ ॥
The Lord [Mahā-Viṣṇu], although lying in the Causal Ocean, came out of it, and dividing Himself as Hiraṇyagarbha, He entered into each universe and assumed the virāṭ-rūpa, with thousands of legs, arms, mouths, heads, etc. ॥ 2-5-35 ॥

यद्यपि भगवान् (महाविष्णु) कारणार्णव में शयन करते रहते हैं, किन्तु वे उससे बाहर निकल कर और अपने को हिरण्यगर्भ के रूप में विभाजित करके प्रत्येक ब्रह्माण्ड में प्रविष्ट हो गये और उन्होंने हजारों-हजारों पाँव, भुजा, मुँह, सिर वाला विराट रूप धारण कर लिया। ॥ २-५-३५ ॥
