यस्येहावयवैर्लोकान् कल्पयन्ति मनीषिणः । कट्यादिभिरधः सप्त सप्तोर्ध्वं जघनादिभिः ॥ २-५-३६ ॥
Great philosophers imagine that the complete planetary systems in the universe are displays of the different upper and lower limbs of the universal body of the Lord. ॥ 2-5-36 ॥

बड़े-बड़े दार्शनिक कल्पना करते हैं कि ब्रह्माण्ड में सारे लोक भगवान् के विराट शरीर के विभिन्न ऊपरी तथा निचले अंगों के प्रदर्शन हैं। ॥ २-५-३६ ॥

पुरुषस्य मुखं ब्रह्म क्षत्रमेतस्य बाहवः । ऊर्वोर्वैश्यो भगवतः पद्भ्यां शूद्रो व्यजायत ॥ २-५-३७ ॥
The brāhmaṇas represent His mouth, the kṣatriyas His arms, the vaiśyas His thighs, and the śūdras are born of His legs. ॥ 2-5-37 ॥

ब्राह्मण वर्ग भगवान् के मुख का, क्षत्रिय उनकी भुजाओं का और वैश्य उनकी जाँघों का प्रतिनिधित्व करते हैं, जबकि शूद्र वर्ग उनके पाँवों से उत्पन्न हुआ है। ॥ २-५-३७ ॥

भूर्लोकः कल्पितः पद्भ्यां भुवर्लोकोऽस्य नाभितः । हृदा स्वर्लोक उरसा महर्लोको महात्मनः ॥ २-५-३८ ॥
The lower planetary systems, up to the limit of the earthly stratum, are said to be situated in His legs. The middle planetary systems, beginning from Bhuvarloka, are situated in His navel. And the still higher planetary systems, occupied by the demigods and highly cultured sages and saints, are situated in the chest of the Supreme Lord. ॥ 2-5-38 ॥

पृथ्वी-तल तक सारे अधोलोक उनके पाँवों में स्थित हैं। भुवर्लोक इत्यादि मध्य लोक उनकी नाभि में स्थित हैं और इनसे भी उच्चतर लोक, जो देवताओं तथा सुसंस्कृत ऋषियों-मुनियों द्वारा निवसित हैं, वे भगवान् के वक्षस्थल में स्थित हैं। ॥ २-५-३८ ॥

ग्रीवायां जनलोकश्च तपोलोकः स्तनद्वयात् । मूर्धभिः सत्यलोकस्तु ब्रह्मलोकः सनातनः ॥ २-५-३९ ॥
From the forefront of the chest up to the neck of the universal form of the Lord are situated the planetary systems named Janaloka and Tapoloka, whereas Satyaloka, the topmost planetary system, is situated on the head of the form. The spiritual planets, however, are eternal. ॥ 2-5-39 ॥

भगवान् के विराट रूप के वक्षस्थल से गर्दन तक के प्रदेश में जनलोक तथा तपोलोक स्थित हैं जबकि सर्वोच्च लोक, सत्यलोक, इस विराट रूप के सिर पर स्थित है। किन्तु आध्यात्मिक लोक शाश्वत हैं। ॥ २-५-३९ ॥

My dear son Nārada, know from me that there are seven lower planetary systems out of the total fourteen. The first planetary system, known as Atala, is situated on the waist; the second, Vitala, is situated on the thighs; the third, Sutala, on the knees; the fourth, Talātala, on the shanks; ॥ 2-5-40 ॥

हे पुत्र नारद, तुम मुझसे जान लो कि चौदह लोकों में से सात अधोलोक हैं। इनमें पहला लोक अतल है, जो कटि में स्थित है, दूसरा लोक वितल जाँघों में स्थित है, तीसरा लोक सुतल घुटनों में, चौथा लोक तलातल पिंडलियों में। ॥ २-५-४० ॥
