स तत्सन्दर्शनानन्दनिर्वृतात्मेन्द्रियाशयः । हृष्टरोमाश्रुपूर्णाक्षो न सेहे तावुदीक्षितुम् ॥ १२-८-३६ ॥
The ecstasy of seeing Them completely satisfied Mārkaṇḍeya’s body, mind and senses and caused the hairs on his body to stand on end and his eyes to fill with tears. Overwhelmed, Mārkaṇḍeya found it difficult to look at Them. ॥ 12-8-36 ॥

उन्हें देखने के आनंद ने मार्कंडेय के शरीर, मन और इंद्रियों को पूरी तरह से संतुष्ट कर दिया और उनके शरीर पर रोंगटे खड़े हो गए और उनकी आंखें आंसुओं से भर गईं। अभिभूत मार्कण्डेय को उनकी ओर देखना कठिन हो गया। ॥ १२-८-३६ ॥

उत्थाय प्राञ्जलिः प्रह्व औत्सुक्यादाश्लिषन्निव । नमो नम इतीशानौ बभाषे गद्गदाक्षरः ॥ १२-८-३७ ॥
Standing with his hands folded in supplication and his head bowed in humility, Mārkaṇḍeya felt such eagerness that he imagined he was embracing the two Lords. In a voice choked with ecstasy, he repeatedly said, “I offer You my humble obeisances.” ॥ 12-8-37 ॥

प्रार्थना में हाथ जोड़कर और विनम्रता से सिर झुकाए खड़े मार्कंडेय को इतनी उत्सुकता महसूस हुई कि उन्होंने कल्पना की कि वह दोनों भगवानों को गले लगा रहे हैं। परमानंद से भरी आवाज में उन्होंने बार-बार कहा, "मैं आपको विनम्र प्रणाम करता हूं।" ॥ १२-८-३७ ॥

तयोरासनमादाय पादयोरवनिज्य च । अर्हणेनानुलेपेन धूपमाल्यैरपूजयत् ॥ १२-८-३८ ॥
He gave Them sitting places and washed Their feet, and then he worshiped Them with presentations of arghya, sandalwood pulp, fragrant oils, incense and flower garlands. ॥ 12-8-38 ॥

Mārkaṇḍeya Ṛṣi once again bowed down at the lotus feet of those two most worshipable sages, who were sitting at ease, ready to bestow all mercy upon him. He then addressed Them as follows. ॥ 12-8-39 ॥

मार्कण्डेय उवाच किं वर्णये तव विभो यदुदीरितोऽसुः संस्पन्दते तमनु वाङ्मन इन्द्रियाणि । स्पन्दन्ति वै तनुभृतामजशर्वयोश्च स्वस्याप्यथापि भजतामसि भावबन्धुः ॥ १२-८-४० ॥
Śrī Mārkaṇḍeya said: O Almighty Lord, how can I possibly describe You? You awaken the vital air, which then impels the mind, senses and power of speech to act. This is true for all ordinary conditioned souls and even for great demigods like Brahmā and Śiva. So it is certainly true for me. Nevertheless, You become the intimate friend of those who worship You. ॥ 12-8-40 ॥

श्री मार्कण्डेय ने कहा: हे सर्वशक्तिमान भगवान, मैं आपका वर्णन कैसे कर सकता हूँ? आप प्राणवायु को जागृत करते हैं, जो फिर मन, इंद्रियों और वाणी की शक्ति को कार्य करने के लिए प्रेरित करती है। यह सभी सामान्य बद्ध आत्माओं और यहां तक कि ब्रह्मा और शिव जैसे महान देवताओं के लिए भी सच है। तो यह मेरे लिए निश्चित रूप से सच है। फिर भी, जो लोग आपकी पूजा करते हैं, आप उनके घनिष्ठ मित्र बन जाते हैं। ॥ १२-८-४० ॥
