कर्माणि कर्मभिः कुर्वन् सनिमित्तानि देहभृत् । तत्तत्कर्मफलं गृह्णन् भ्रमतीह सुखेतरम् ।। ११-३-६ ।।

sanskrit

Impelled by deep-rooted material desires, the embodied living entity engages his active sense organs in fruitive activities. He then experiences the results of his material actions by wandering throughout this world in so-called happiness and distress. ।। 11-3-6 ।।

english translation

गहरी जड़ वाली भौतिक इच्छाओं से प्रेरित होकर, देहधारी जीव अपनी सक्रिय इंद्रियों को सकाम गतिविधियों में संलग्न करता है। फिर वह इस संसार में तथाकथित सुख और कष्ट में भटकते हुए अपने भौतिक कार्यों का फल भोगता है। ।। ११-३-६ ।।

इत्थं कर्मगतीर्गच्छन् बह्वभद्रवहाः पुमान् । आभूतसम्प्लवात्सर्गप्रलयावश्नुतेऽवशः ।। ११-३-७ ।।

sanskrit

Thus the conditioned living entity is forced to experience repeated birth and death. Impelled by the reactions of his own activities, he helplessly wanders from one inauspicious situation to another, suffering from the moment of creation until the time of cosmic annihilation. ।। 11-3-7 ।।

english translation

इस प्रकार बद्ध जीव को बार-बार जन्म और मृत्यु का अनुभव करने के लिए मजबूर होना पड़ता है। अपनी ही गतिविधियों की प्रतिक्रियाओं से प्रेरित होकर, वह असहाय होकर एक अशुभ स्थिति से दूसरी स्थिति में भटकता रहता है, सृजन के क्षण से लेकर ब्रह्मांडीय विनाश के समय तक पीड़ित होता है। ।। ११-३-७ ।।

धातूपप्लव आसन्ने व्यक्तं द्रव्यगुणात्मकम् । अनादिनिधनः कालो ह्यव्यक्तायापकर्षति ।। ११-३-८ ।।

sanskrit

When the annihilation of the material elements is imminent, the Supreme Personality of Godhead in His form of eternal time withdraws the manifest cosmos, consisting of gross and subtle features, and the entire universe vanishes into nonmanifestation. ।। 11-3-8 ।।

english translation

जब भौतिक तत्वों का विनाश आसन्न होता है, तो भगवान अपने शाश्वत समय के रूप में स्थूल और सूक्ष्म विशेषताओं से युक्त व्यक्त ब्रह्मांड को वापस ले लेते हैं, और संपूर्ण ब्रह्मांड अव्यक्त रूप में गायब हो जाता है। ।। ११-३-८ ।।

शतवर्षा ह्यनावृष्टिर्भविष्यत्युल्बणा भुवि । तत्कालोपचितोष्णार्को लोकांस्त्रीन् प्रतपिष्यति ।। ११-३-९ ।।

sanskrit

As cosmic annihilation approaches, a terrible drought takes place on earth for one hundred years. For one hundred years the heat of the sun gradually increases, and its blazing heat begins to torment the three worlds. ।। 11-3-9 ।।

english translation

जैसे-जैसे ब्रह्मांडीय विनाश निकट आता है, पृथ्वी पर एक सौ वर्षों तक भयानक सूखा पड़ता है। एक सौ वर्षों तक सूर्य की गर्मी धीरे-धीरे बढ़ती जाती है और उसकी प्रचंड गर्मी तीनों लोकों को पीड़ा देने लगती है। ।। ११-३-९ ।।

पातालतलमारभ्य सङ्कर्षणमुखानलः । दहन्नूर्ध्वशिखो विष्वग्वर्धते वायुनेरितः ।। ११-३-१० ।।

sanskrit

Beginning from Pātālaloka, a fire grows, emanating from the mouth of Lord Saṅkarṣaṇa. Its flames shooting upward, driven by great winds, it scorches everything in all directions. ।। 11-3-10 ।।

english translation

पाताललोक से शुरू होकर, भगवान संकर्षण के मुख से निकलने वाली अग्नि बढ़ती है। इसकी लपटें तेज़ हवाओं से प्रेरित होकर ऊपर की ओर उठती हैं, यह सभी दिशाओं में सब कुछ झुलसा देती हैं। ।। ११-३-१० ।।
