शतवर्षा ह्यनावृष्टिर्भविष्यत्युल्बणा भुवि । तत्कालोपचितोष्णार्को लोकांस्त्रीन् प्रतपिष्यति ॥ ११-३-९ ॥
As cosmic annihilation approaches, a terrible drought takes place on earth for one hundred years. For one hundred years the heat of the sun gradually increases, and its blazing heat begins to torment the three worlds. ॥ 11-3-9 ॥

जैसे-जैसे ब्रह्मांडीय विनाश निकट आता है, पृथ्वी पर एक सौ वर्षों तक भयानक सूखा पड़ता है। एक सौ वर्षों तक सूर्य की गर्मी धीरे-धीरे बढ़ती जाती है और उसकी प्रचंड गर्मी तीनों लोकों को पीड़ा देने लगती है। ॥ ११-३-९ ॥
