राजोवाच परस्य विष्णोरीशस्य मायिनामपि मोहिनीम् । मायां वेदितुमिच्छामो भगवन्तो ब्रुवन्तु नः ।। ११-३-१ ।।

sanskrit

King Nimi said: Now we wish to learn about the illusory potency of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Śrī Viṣṇu, which bewilders even great mystics. My lords, please speak to us about this subject. ।। 11-3-1 ।।

english translation

राजा निमि ने कहा: अब हम भगवान श्री विष्णु की मायावी शक्ति के बारे में जानना चाहते हैं, जो बड़े-बड़े रहस्यवादियों को भी भ्रमित कर देती है। माय लॉर्ड्स, कृपया इस विषय पर हमसे बात करें। ।। ११-३-१ ।।

नानुतृप्ये जुषन् युष्मद्वचो हरिकथामृतम् । संसारतापनिस्तप्तो मर्त्यस्तत्तापभेषजम् ।। ११-३-२ ।।

sanskrit

Although I am drinking the nectar of your statements about the glories of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, my thirst is not yet satiated. Such nectarean descriptions of the Lord and His devotees are the actual medicine for conditioned souls like me, who are tormented by the threefold miseries of material existence. ।। 11-3-2 ।।

english translation

हालाँकि मैं भगवान की महिमा के बारे में आपके कथनों का अमृत पी रहा हूँ, फिर भी मेरी प्यास अभी तक तृप्त नहीं हुई है। भगवान और उनके भक्तों के ऐसे अमृतपूर्ण वर्णन मेरे जैसे बद्ध आत्माओं के लिए वास्तविक औषधि हैं, जो भौतिक अस्तित्व के तीन गुना दुखों से पीड़ित हैं। ।। ११-३-२ ।।

अन्तरिक्ष उवाच एभिर्भूतानि भूतात्मा महाभूतैर्महाभुज । ससर्जोच्चावचान्याद्यः स्वमात्रात्मप्रसिद्धये ।। ११-३-३ ।।

sanskrit

Śrī Antarīkṣa said: O mighty-armed King, by activating the material elements, the primeval Soul of all creation has sent forth all living beings in higher and lower species so that these conditioned souls can cultivate either sense gratification or ultimate liberation, according to their desire. ।। 11-3-3 ।।

english translation

श्री अंतरिक्ष ने कहा: हे महाबाहु राजा, भौतिक तत्वों को सक्रिय करके, सारी सृष्टि की आदि आत्मा ने सभी जीवित प्राणियों को उच्च और निम्न योनियों में भेजा है ताकि ये बद्ध आत्माएं अपने अनुसार इंद्रिय संतुष्टि या परम मुक्ति की खेती कर सकें उनकी इच्छा के अनुसार । ।। ११-३-३ ।।

एवं सृष्टानि भूतानि प्रविष्टः पञ्चधातुभिः । एकधा दशधाऽऽत्मानं विभजन् जुषते गुणान् ।। ११-३-४ ।।

The Supersoul enters the material bodies of the created beings, activates the mind and senses, and thus causes the conditioned souls to approach the three modes of material nature for sense gratification. ।। 11-3-4 ।।

english translation

परमात्मा सृजित प्राणियों के भौतिक शरीर में प्रवेश करते हैं, मन और इंद्रियों को सक्रिय करते हैं, और इस प्रकार बद्ध आत्माओं को इंद्रिय संतुष्टि के लिए भौतिक प्रकृति के तीन गुणों के पास जाने के लिए प्रेरित करते हैं। ।। ११-३-४ ।।

गुणैर्गुणान् स भुञ्जान आत्मप्रद्योतितैः प्रभुः । मन्यमान इदं सृष्टमात्मानमिह सज्जते ।। ११-३-५ ।।

sanskrit

The individual living being, the master of the material body, uses his material senses, which have been activated by the Supersoul, to try to enjoy sense objects composed of the three modes of nature. Thus he misidentifies the created material body with the unborn eternal self and becomes entangled in the illusory energy of the Lord. ।। 11-3-5 ।।

english translation

व्यक्तिगत जीवित प्राणी, भौतिक शरीर का स्वामी, अपनी भौतिक इंद्रियों का उपयोग करता है, जो परमात्मा द्वारा सक्रिय की गई हैं, प्रकृति के तीन गुणों से बनी इंद्रिय वस्तुओं का आनंद लेने का प्रयास करने के लिए। इस प्रकार वह निर्मित भौतिक शरीर को अजन्मे शाश्वत आत्मा के साथ गलत पहचानता है और भगवान की मायावी ऊर्जा में फंस जाता है। ।। ११-३-५ ।।
