शुचिः सम्भृतसम्भारः प्राग्दर्भैः कल्पितासनः । आसीनः प्रागुदग्वार्चेदर्चायामथ सम्मुखः ।। ११-२७-१९ ।।

sanskrit

After cleansing himself and collecting all the paraphernalia, the worshiper should arrange his own seat with blades of kuśa grass whose tips point eastward. He should then sit facing either east or north, or else, if the Deity is fixed in one place, he should sit directly facing the Deity. ।। 11-27-19 ।।

english translation

खुद को साफ करने और सभी सामान इकट्ठा करने के बाद, उपासक को कुश घास के पत्तों से अपना आसन व्यवस्थित करना चाहिए, जिनकी नोकें पूर्व की ओर हों। फिर उसे पूर्व या उत्तर दिशा की ओर मुंह करके बैठना चाहिए, अन्यथा, यदि देवता एक ही स्थान पर स्थापित है, तो उसे सीधे देवता की ओर मुंह करके बैठना चाहिए। ।। ११-२७-१९ ।।
