एधमाने गुणे सत्त्वे देवानां बलमेधते । असुराणां च रजसि तमस्युद्धव रक्षसाम् ॥ ११-२५-१९ ॥
With the increase of the mode of goodness, the strength of the demigods similarly increases. When passion increases, the demoniac become strong. And with the rise of ignorance, O Uddhava, the strength of the most wicked increases. ॥ 11-25-19 ॥

सतोगुण की वृद्धि के साथ-साथ देवताओं की शक्ति भी बढ़ती है। जब राग बढ़ता है तो आसुरी बलवान हो जाते हैं। और हे उद्धव, अज्ञान के बढ़ने से अत्यंत दुष्टों की शक्ति भी बढ़ जाती है। ॥ ११-२५-१९ ॥
