तस्यैवं यक्षवित्तस्य च्युतस्योभयलोकतः । धर्मकामविहीनस्य चुक्रुधुः पञ्चभागिनः ।। ११-२३-९ ।।

sanskrit

In this way the presiding deities of the five family sacrifices became angry at the brāhmaṇa, who, being niggardly, guarded his wealth like a Yakṣa, who had no good destination either in this world or the next, and who was totally deprived of religiosity and sense enjoyment. ।। 11-23-9 ।।

english translation

इस प्रकार पाँच पारिवारिक यज्ञों के अधिष्ठाता देवता उस ब्राह्मण पर क्रोधित हो गए, जो कंजूस होकर, यक्ष की तरह अपने धन की रक्षा करता था, जिसका न तो इस लोक में और न ही परलोक में कोई अच्छा ठिकाना था, और जो पूरी तरह से धार्मिकता से वंचित था और इंद्रिय आनंद. ।। ११-२३-९ ।।
