ग्रहा निमित्तं सुखदुःखयोश्चेत्किमात्मनोऽजस्य जनस्य ते वै । ग्रहैर्ग्रहस्यैव वदन्ति पीडां क्रुध्येत कस्मै पुरुषस्ततोऽन्यः ।। ११-२३-५४ ।।

And if we examine the hypothesis that the planets are the immediate cause of suffering and happiness, then also where is the relationship with the soul, who is eternal? After all, the effect of the planets applies only to things that have taken birth. Expert astrologers have moreover explained how the planets are only causing pain to each other. Therefore, since the living entity is distinct from these planets and from the material body, against whom should he vent his anger? ।। 11-23-54 ।।

english translation

और अगर हम इस परिकल्पना की जांच करें कि ग्रह दुख और खुशी का तत्काल कारण हैं, तो आत्मा के साथ संबंध कहां है, जो शाश्वत है? आख़िरकार ग्रहों का प्रभाव उन्हीं चीज़ों पर लागू होता है जिनका जन्म हो चुका है। विशेषज्ञ ज्योतिषियों ने यह भी बताया है कि कैसे ग्रह एक-दूसरे को केवल पीड़ा दे रहे हैं। इसलिए, चूँकि जीव इन ग्रहों और भौतिक शरीर से भिन्न है, तो उसे अपना क्रोध किसके विरुद्ध प्रकट करना चाहिए? ।। ११-२३-५४ ।।
