भजन्ति ये यथा देवान् देवा अपि तथैव तान् । छायेव कर्मसचिवाः साधवो दीनवत्सलाः ॥ ११-२-६ ॥
Those who worship the demigods receive reciprocation from the demigods in a way just corresponding to the offering. The demigods are attendants of karma, like a person’s shadow, but sādhus are actually merciful to the fallen. ॥ 11-2-6 ॥

जो लोग देवताओं की पूजा करते हैं, उन्हें देवताओं से भेंट के अनुरूप ही प्रत्युत्तर प्राप्त होता है। देवता किसी व्यक्ति की छाया की तरह कर्म के परिचारक होते हैं, लेकिन साधु वास्तव में पतित के प्रति दयालु होते हैं। ॥ ११-२-६ ॥

ब्रह्मंस्तथापि पृच्छामो धर्मान् भागवतांस्तव । यान् श्रुत्वा श्रद्धया मर्त्यो मुच्यते सर्वतोभयात् ॥ ११-२-७ ॥
O brāhmaṇa, although I am satisfied simply by seeing you, I still wish to inquire about those duties which give pleasure to the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Any mortal who faithfully hears about them is freed from all kinds of fear. ॥ 11-2-7 ॥

हे ब्राह्मण, यद्यपि मैं आपको देखकर ही संतुष्ट हो जाता हूं, फिर भी मैं उन कर्तव्यों के बारे में पूछताछ करना चाहता हूं जो भगवान को प्रसन्न करते हैं। जो कोई भी प्राणी श्रद्धापूर्वक उनके बारे में सुनता है वह सभी प्रकार के भय से मुक्त हो जाता है। ॥ ११-२-७ ॥

अहं किल पुरानन्तं प्रजार्थो भुवि मुक्तिदम् । अपूजयं न मोक्षाय मोहितो देवमायया ॥ ११-२-८ ॥
In a previous birth on this earth, I worshiped the Supreme Lord, Ananta, who alone can award liberation, but because I desired to have a child, I did not worship Him for liberation. Thus I was bewildered by the Lord’s illusory energy. ॥ 11-2-8 ॥

इस पृथ्वी पर पिछले जन्म में, मैंने परम भगवान अनंत की पूजा की थी, जो अकेले ही मुक्ति दे सकते हैं, लेकिन क्योंकि मैं एक बच्चा पाने की इच्छा रखता था, इसलिए मैंने मुक्ति के लिए उनकी पूजा नहीं की। इस प्रकार मैं भगवान की माया से व्याकुल हो गया। ॥ ११-२-८ ॥

यथा विचित्रव्यसनाद्भवद्भिर्विश्वतोभयात् । मुच्येम ह्यञ्जसैवाद्धा तथा नः शाधि सुव्रत ॥ ११-२-९ ॥
My dear lord, you are always true to your vow. Please instruct me clearly, so that by your mercy I may easily free myself from material existence, which is full of many dangers and keeps us constantly bound in fear. ॥ 11-2-9 ॥

मेरे प्रिय प्रभु, आप सदैव अपनी प्रतिज्ञा के प्रति सच्चे हैं। कृपया मुझे स्पष्ट रूप से निर्देश दें, ताकि आपकी दया से मैं आसानी से खुद को भौतिक अस्तित्व से मुक्त कर सकूं, जो कई खतरों से भरा है और हमें लगातार भय में बांधे रखता है। ॥ ११-२-९ ॥

श्रीशुक उवाच राजन्नेवं कृतप्रश्नो वसुदेवेन धीमता । प्रीतस्तमाह देवर्षिर्हरेः संस्मारितो गुणैः ॥ ११-२-१० ॥
Śukadeva Gosvāmī said: O King, Devarṣi Nārada was pleased by the questions of the highly intelligent Vasudeva. Because they suggested the transcendental qualities of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, they reminded Nārada of Lord Kṛṣṇa. Thus Nārada replied to Vasudeva as follows. ॥ 11-2-10 ॥

शुकदेव गोस्वामी ने कहा: हे राजन, देवर्षि नारद अत्यंत बुद्धिमान वासुदेव के प्रश्नों से प्रसन्न हुए। क्योंकि उन्होंने भगवान के सर्वोच्च व्यक्तित्व के दिव्य गुणों का सुझाव दिया, उन्होंने नारद को भगवान कृष्ण की याद दिलायी। इस प्रकार नारद ने वासुदेव को इस प्रकार उत्तर दिया। ॥ ११-२-१० ॥
