असत्त्वादात्मनोऽन्येषां भावानां तत्कृता भिदा । गतयो हेतवश्चास्य मृषा स्वप्नदृशो यथा ।। ११-१३-३१ ।।

sanskrit

Those states of existence that are conceived of as separate from the Supreme Personality of Godhead have no actual existence, although they create a sense of separation from the Absolute Truth. Just as the seer of a dream imagines many different activities and rewards, similarly, because of the sense of an existence separate from the Lord’s existence, the living entity falsely performs fruitive activities, thinking them to be the cause of future rewards and destinations. ।। 11-13-31 ।।

english translation

अस्तित्व की वे स्थितियाँ जिन्हें भगवान के परम व्यक्तित्व से अलग माना जाता है, उनका कोई वास्तविक अस्तित्व नहीं है, हालाँकि वे पूर्ण सत्य से अलगाव की भावना पैदा करती हैं। जिस प्रकार स्वप्न देखने वाला अनेक प्रकार की गतिविधियों और पुरस्कारों की कल्पना करता है, उसी प्रकार, भगवान के अस्तित्व से अलग अस्तित्व की भावना के कारण, जीव फलदायी गतिविधियों को भविष्य के पुरस्कारों और गंतव्यों का कारण मानकर मिथ्या कर्म करता है। ।। ११-१३-३१ ।।
