वायुर्वाति खरस्पर्शो रजसा विसृजंस्तमः । असृग्वर्षन्ति जलदा बीभत्समिव सर्वतः ॥ १-१४-१६ ॥
The wind blows violently, blasting dust everywhere and creating darkness. Clouds are raining everywhere with bloody disasters. ॥ 1-14-16 ॥

वायु तेजी से बह रही है और वह सर्वत्र धूल बिखरा कर अँधेरा उत्पन्न कर रही है। बादल सर्वत्र रक्तिम आपदाओं की वर्षा कर रहे हैं। ॥ १-१४-१६ ॥

सूर्यं हतप्रभं पश्य ग्रहमर्दं मिथो दिवि । ससङ्कुलैर्भूतगणैर्ज्वलिते इव रोदसी ॥ १-१४-१७ ॥
The rays of the sun are declining, and the stars appear to be fighting amongst themselves. Confused living entities appear to be ablaze and weeping. ॥ 1-14-17 ॥

सूर्य की किरणें मन्द पड़ रही हैं और तारे परस्पर भिड़ रहे प्रतीत हो रहे हैं। भ्रमित जीव जलते हुए तथा रोते प्रतीत हो रहे हैं। ॥ १-१४-१७ ॥

नद्यो नदाश्च क्षुभिताः सरांसि च मनांसि च । न ज्वलत्यग्निराज्येन कालोऽयं किं विधास्यति ॥ १-१४-१८ ॥
Rivers, tributaries, ponds, reservoirs and the mind are all perturbed. Butter no longer ignites fire. What is this extraordinary time? What is going to happen? ॥ 1-14-18 ॥

नदियाँ, नाले, तालाब, जलाशय तथा मन सभी विक्षुब्ध हैं। घी से अग्नि नहीं जल रही हैं, यह कैसा असामान्य समय है? आखिर क्या होने वाला है? ॥ १-१४-१८ ॥

न पिबन्ति स्तनं वत्सा न दुह्यन्ति च मातरः । रुदन्त्यश्रुमुखा गावो न हृष्यन्त्यृषभा व्रजे ॥ १-१४-१९ ॥
The calves do not suck the teats of the cows, nor do the cows give milk. They are standing, crying, tears in their eyes, and the bulls take no pleasure in the pasturing grounds. ॥ 1-14-19 ॥

बछड़े न तो गौवों के थनों में मुँह लगा रहे हैं, न गौवें दूध देती हैं। वे आँखों में आँसू भरे खड़ी-खड़ी रम्भा रही हैं और बैलों को चरागाहों में कोई प्रसन्नता नहीं हो रही है। ॥ १-१४-१९ ॥

दैवतानि रुदन्तीव स्विद्यन्ति ह्युच्चलन्ति च । इमे जनपदा ग्रामाः पुरोद्यानाकराश्रमाः । भ्रष्टश्रियो निरानन्दाः किमघं दर्शयन्ति नः ॥ १-१४-२० ॥
The Deities seem to be crying in the temple, lamenting and perspiring. They seem about to leave. All the cities, villages, towns, gardens, mines and hermitages are now devoid of beauty and bereft of all happiness. I do not know what sort of calamities are now awaiting us. ॥ 1-14-20 ॥

मन्दिर में अर्चाविग्रह रोते, शोक करते तथा पसीजते प्रतीत हो रहे हैं। ऐसा लगता है कि वे प्रयाण करनेवाले हैं। सारे नगर, ग्राम, कस्बे, बगीचे, खानें तथा आश्रम अब सौन्दर्यविहीन तथा समस्त आनन्द से रहित हैं। मैं नहीं जानता कि हम पर किस तरह की विपत्तियाँ आनेवाली हैं। ॥ १-१४-२० ॥
