इत्थं महेश्वरस्तात चक्रे लीलाम्पराम्प्रभुः ॥ अवतीर्य्य क्षितौ द्रौणिरूपेण मुनिसत्तम ॥ ४१ ॥
O excellent sage, incarnating thus on the earth in the form of Droṇa’s son, lord Śiva performed various sports.
english translation
शिवावतारोऽश्वत्थामा महाबलपराक्रमः ॥ त्रैलोक्यमुखदोऽद्यापि वर्तते जाह्नवीतटे ॥ ४२ ॥
The incarnation of Śiva Aśvatthāman of great strength and exploit is even now alive on the banks of the river Gaṅgā bestowing happiness on the three worlds.

अश्वत्थामावतारस्ते वर्णितश्शंकर प्रभोः ॥ सर्वसिद्धिकरश्चापि भक्ताभीष्टफलप्रदः ॥ ४३ ॥
The incarnation in the form of Aśvatthāman of lord Śiva has been explained to you. It is the cause of all Siddhis and it fulfils all desires of the devotees.
english translation
य इदं शृणुयाद्भक्त्या कीर्तयेद्वा समाहितः ॥ स सिद्धिम्प्राप्नुयादिष्टामन्ते शिवपुरं व्रजेत् ॥ ४४ ॥
He who listens to this with devotion or narrates it with pure mind attains all Siddhis here and attains Śiya’s abode hereafter.
