महादेवस्य सारूप्यं प्राप्य शम्भोरनुग्रहात् ।। तत्र भुक्त्वा महाभोगांस्ततो मोक्षमवाप्स्यति ।। ६ ।।

With the blessings of Śiva he will attain identity in form with the great god. He will enjoy all great pleasures there and then attain liberation,

mahAdevasya sArUpyaM prApya zambhoranugrahAt || tatra bhuktvA mahAbhogAMstato mokSamavApsyati || 6 ||

इत्यालोच्य सुरास्सर्वे जग्मुर्गुरुगृहं मुने ।। चक्रुर्निवेदनं गत्वा गुरवे स्वार्थसाधकाः ।। ७ ।।

O sage, after discussing like this, the gods went to the abode of their preceptor. In order to achieve their self-interest they submitted to the preceptor thus.

ityAlocya surAssarve jagmurgurugRhaM mune || cakrurnivedanaM gatvA gurave svArthasAdhakAH || 7 ||

देवा ऊचुः ।। गुरो हिमालयगृहं गच्छास्मत्कार्य्यसिद्धये ।। कृत्वा निंदां महेशस्य गिरिभक्तिं निवारय ।। ८ ।।

The gods said:— O preceptor, please go to the abode of Himavat for the accomplishment of our task. Reproach lord Śiva and try to prevent the mountain’s excessive devotion to him.

devA UcuH || guro himAlayagRhaM gacchAsmatkAryyasiddhaye || kRtvA niMdAM mahezasya giribhaktiM nivAraya || 8 ||

स्वश्रद्धया सुतां दत्त्वा शिवाय स गिरिर्गुरो ।। लभेत मुक्तिमत्रैव धरण्यां स हि तिष्ठतु ।। ९ ।।

O preceptor, if the mountain gives his daughter to Śiva with great faith he will attain salvation. Let him stay on the Earth itself.
