जपन्नाम हरेर्भक्त्या साधुवेषधरो द्विजः॥ हिमाचलं जगामाशु बन्धुवर्गेस्समन्वितम् ॥ २१ ॥
A brahmin dressed as a saint chanted the name of Hari with devotion Accompanied by a host of relatives he at once set out for Himachal.
english translation
तं च दृष्ट्वा समुत्तस्थौ सगणोऽपि हिमालयः ॥ ननाम दण्डवद्भूमौ साष्टाङ्गं विधिपूर्वकम् ॥ २२ ॥
On seeing him, Himavat and his attendants stood up and then prostrated before him. They performed Aṣṭāṅga salvation on the ground.
english translation
ततः पप्रच्छ शैलेशस्तं द्विजं को भवानिति ॥ उवाच शीघ्रं विप्रेन्द्रस्स योग्यद्रिम्महादरात् ॥ २३ ॥
Then the lord of mountains asked him “Who are you please?” The brahmin Yogin replied immediately with reverence.
english translation
साधुद्विज उवाच ॥ साधु द्विजाह्वः शैलाहं वैष्णवः परमार्थदृक् ॥ परोपकारी सर्वज्ञः सर्वगामी गुरोर्बलात्॥ २४॥
The Saintly brahmin said:— O mountain, I am a devotee of Viṣṇu known as Sādhudvija. I possess true vision. I am omniscient and I assist others. By the power of the preceptor I can go everywhere.
english translation
मया ज्ञातं स्वविज्ञानात्स्वस्थाने शैलसत्तम॥ तच्छृणु प्रीतितो वच्मि हित्वा दम्भन्तवांतिकम् ॥ २५॥
O excellent mountain, by my divine knowledge, I have known something while I was in my abode. Listen. I shall mention the same with pleasure to you without any arrogance.
