अजरश्चामरश्चैव भव त्वं दुःखवर्जित।। यशस्वी वरतेजस्वी दित्त्वज्ञानी महाप्रभुः ।। ५६।।

Be unaging and undying and free from misery. You will be famous, brilliant and endowed with divine knowledge. You will be a great lord.”

english translation

ajarazcAmarazcaiva bhava tvaM duHkhavarjita|| yazasvI varatejasvI dittvajJAnI mahAprabhuH || 56||

अथ शम्भुः प्रसन्नात्मा स्मृत्वा तस्य तपो महत् ।। पुनर्दश वरान्दिव्यान्मुनये हयूपमन्यवे ।। ५७।।

Then Lord Śambhu was pleased and remembered his great austerities. Again he gave ten divine boons to the sage Hayupamanya.

atha zambhuH prasannAtmA smRtvA tasya tapo mahat || punardaza varAndivyAnmunaye hayUpamanyave || 57||

व्रतं पाशुपतं ज्ञानं व्रतयोगं च तत्त्वतः ।। ददौ तस्मै प्रवक्तृत्वं पाटवं च निजं पदम्ं।। ५८।।

The vow of Pashupata is the true knowledge and the yoga of vows. He gave him the position of spokesman and his own position in Patava.

vrataM pAzupataM jJAnaM vratayogaM ca tattvataH || dadau tasmai pravaktRtvaM pATavaM ca nijaM padamM|| 58||

एवन्दत्त्वा महादेवः कराभ्यामुपगृह्य तम्।। मूर्ध्न्याघ्राय सुतस्तेऽयमिति देव्यै न्यवेदयत्।। ५९।।

After granting him the boons, lord Śiva took him with both the hands, sniffed at his head and showed him to the goddess saying: “This is your son.”

evandattvA mahAdevaH karAbhyAmupagRhya tam|| mUrdhnyAghrAya sutaste'yamiti devyai nyavedayat|| 59||

देवी च शृण्वती प्रीत्या मूर्ध्निदेशे कराम्बुजम्।। विन्यस्य प्रददौ तस्मै कुमारपदमक्षयम् ।। ६०।।

Listening with pleasure and placing her hands on his head she granted him the everlasting status of a son.
