एवं स ददृशे शम्भुदेव्या सार्द्धं वृषोपरि॥ गणेश्वरैस्त्रिशूलाद्यैर्दिव्यास्त्रैरपि संवृतः ॥ ४६ ॥
Thus Śiva was seen seated on his bull accompained by the goddess. He was surrounded by the leading Gaṇas and the divine weapons, the trident and others.
english translation
दिवि दुन्दुभयो नेदु पुष्पवृष्टिः पपात ह ॥ विष्णुब्रह्मेन्द्रप्रमुखैर्देवैश्छन्ना दिशो दश ॥ ४७ ॥
The drums were sounded in the heaven. There was a shower of flowers. AH the ten quarters were covered by Brahmā, Viṣṇu and other gods.
english translation
अथोपमन्युरानन्दसमुद्रोर्मिभिरावृतः ॥ पपात दण्डवद्भूमौ भक्तिनम्रेण चेतसा ॥ ४८॥
Then Upamanyu was swept by the waves of the ocean of delight and he prostrated on the ground like a staff, with his mind humble with devotion.
english translation
एतस्मिन्समये तत्र सस्मितो भगवान्भवः ॥ एह्येहीति समाहूय मूर्ध्न्याघ्राय ददौ वरान् ॥ ४९ ॥
In the meantime the smiling lord Śiva called him saying “Come on, Come on” and kissed him on the head. He granted him boons.
english translation
शिव उवाच ॥ वत्सोपमन्यो तुष्टोऽस्मि त्वदाचरणतो वरात् ॥ दृढभक्तोऽसि विप्रर्षे मया जिज्ञासितोऽधुना ॥ ५० ॥
Śiva said:— “Dear Upamanyu, I am pleased with your excellent behaviour. O brahmin sage, you are very firm in your devotion. I just desired to know you thoroughly.
