तत्र दैववशाद्राज्ञी मुहूर्त्ते सद्गुणान्विते ॥ असूत तनयं दिव्यं सर्वलक्षणलक्षितम् ॥ ११ ॥
Fortunately in an auspicious and meritorious hour the queen gave birth to a son endowed with all divine characteristics.

tatra daivavazAdrAjJI muhUrtte sadguNAnvite ॥ asUta tanayaM divyaM sarvalakSaNalakSitam ॥ 11 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअथ तज्जननी दैवात्तृषिताति नृपाङ्गना ॥ सरोवतीर्णा पानार्थं ग्रस्ता ग्राहेण पाथसि ॥ १२ ॥
The thirsty mother, the wife of the king, entered the lake for drinking water but as willed by fate she was devoured by a crocodile in the water.

atha tajjananI daivAttRSitAti nRpAGganA ॥ sarovatIrNA pAnArthaM grastA grAheNa pAthasi ॥ 12 ॥

The son bereft of father and mother, distressed by hunger and thirst at the time of birth, cried out.

sa suto jAtamAtrastu kSutpipAsArddito bhRzam॥ ruroda ca sarastIre vinaSTa pitRmAtRkaH ॥ 13॥

O sage, when the new born babe was weeping and wailing in the forest, lord Śiva, the immanent soul and protector, was moved to pity.

tasminvane krandamAne jAtamAtre sute mune ॥ kRpAnvito mahezo'bhUdantaryAmI sa rakSaka- ॥ 14॥

A wandering beggar woman came there accidentally, urged mentally by Śiva, the dispeller of fear.
