आप्याययति यो विश्वममृतांशुर्निशाकरः ।। महादेवस्य तद्रूपं महादेवस्य चाह्वयम् ।। ११ ।।

sanskrit

The moon of nectarlike rays that strengthens and fattens the universe to satiety, is the form of lord Śiva called Mahādeva.

english translation

ApyAyayati yo vizvamamRtAMzurnizAkaraH || mahAdevasya tadrUpaM mahAdevasya cAhvayam || 11 ||

आत्मा तस्याष्टमं रूपं शिवस्य परमात्मनः ।। व्यापिकेतरमूर्तीनां विश्वं तस्माच्छिवात्मकम् ।। १२ ।।

sanskrit

The eighth form of Śiva, the great soul, is the Ātman, more pervasive than the other forms. The universe is pervaded by that form.

english translation

AtmA tasyASTamaM rUpaM zivasya paramAtmanaH || vyApiketaramUrtInAM vizvaM tasmAcchivAtmakam || 12 ||

शाखाः पुष्यन्ति वृक्षस्य वृक्षमूलस्य सेचनात् ।। तद्वदस्य वपुर्विश्वं पुष्यते च शिवार्चनात ।।१३।।

sanskrit

By watering the root of a tree the branches of the tree blossom. Similarly the body of the universe develops by means of worshipping Śiva.

english translation

zAkhAH puSyanti vRkSasya vRkSamUlasya secanAt || tadvadasya vapurvizvaM puSyate ca zivArcanAta ||13||

यथेह पुत्रपौत्रादेः प्रीत्या प्रीतो भवेत्पिता ।। तथा विश्वस्य सम्प्रीत्या प्रीतो भवति शंकरः ।। १४ ।।

sanskrit

Just as a father is delighted at the pleasures of sons, grandsons and others, so also Śiva is delighted at the pleasures of the universe.

english translation

yatheha putrapautrAdeH prItyA prIto bhavetpitA || tathA vizvasya samprItyA prIto bhavati zaMkaraH || 14 ||

क्रियते यस्य कस्यापि देहिनो यदि निग्रहः ।। अष्टमूर्त्तेरनिष्टं तत्कृतमेव न संशयः ।। १५ ।।

sanskrit

Should the slaughter or captivity of a person be carried out, undoubtedly it is an offence committed against the eight-formed lord Śiva.

english translation

kriyate yasya kasyApi dehino yadi nigrahaH || aSTamUrtteraniSTaM tatkRtameva na saMzayaH || 15 ||
