स तं दृष्ट्वा महात्मानमघोरं घोरविक्रमम् ॥ ववन्दे देवदेवेशमद्भुतं कृष्णपिंगलम् ॥२६॥

On seeing that noble soul of terrible exploits, (named) Aghora (non-terrible), he worshipped him—the lord of god, of wonderful black and tawny colour.

english translation

अघोरं तु ततो ब्रह्मा ब्रह्मरूपं व्यचिंतयत् ॥ तुष्टाव वाग्भिरिष्टाभिर्भक्तवत्सलमव्ययम् ॥ २७ ॥

Brahmā then contemplated on Aghora in the form of Brahman. He eulogised that unperishing Being favourably disposed towards his devotees, by means of pleasing words.

english translation

अथास्य पार्श्वतः कृष्णाः कृष्णस्नानानुलेपनाः॥ चत्वारस्तु महात्मानः संबभूवुः कुमारकाः॥२८॥

Then from his sides sprang up four noble-souled sons all of whom were black in colour and had black toilet and unguent articles.

english translation

कृष्ण कृष्णशिखश्चैव कृष्णा स्यः कृष्णकण्ठधृक् ॥ इति तेऽव्यक्तनामानः शिवरूपाः सुतेजसः ॥२९॥

These brilliant beings in the form of Śiva had the clear names Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇaśikḥa, Kṛṣṇāsya and Kṛṣṇakaṇṭha-dhṛk.

english translation

एवंभूता महात्मानो ब्रह्मणः सृष्टिहेतवे ॥ योगं प्रवर्त्तया मासुर्घोराख्यं महदद्भुतम् ॥ ३० ॥

The noble-souled beings of this nature initiated the great and wonderful Yoga called Ghora for the purpose of Brahmā’s creation.
